I like Mafah too, and rather take a chance with him over a Sanders or Williams. But as it comes to waiver claims the fact he was a 7th round pick, was solid in the preseason but not spectacular with 59 yards, a 3.9 average and 1 td makes me believe he could land back on the practice squad if cut. Again just a guess, but is it worth taking that chance for retaining a veteran guy like Williams and Sanders? We've seen what the both can do the last couple of years and it hasn't been anything inspiring even if they do carry more versatility in the passing game.

Personally I would decide between Williams and Sanders, keep Blue, and Mafah, then make a call if you want to keep a 4th between Vaughn and Sanders/Williams. Vaughn showed a little in the last preseason game that probably gets him back in the conversation.

I just don't know if there's room for a 4th with them likely carrying a FB as well.

Yeah I'm not looking at their averages they're playing behind a backup piece together offensive line i'm looking at what I see with my eyes I can envision these guys behind the starters and see that they have a lot more to offer than what preseason stats say..

As if I'm going by that then Williams is 0.0 he has no stats therefore he can't make the team he sucks how can you not have a single yard in preseason...lol :popcorn: :muttley: That is my point I don't know how this guy got a pass He's not some superstar that is trying to make a comeback and getting a pass in preseason this guy is not done enough to have not played a single snap in preseason he should have had to prove himself like the rest we don't even know what we're getting with him truly..

Yes ,big decisions It's a deep room in the way that there's not a lot of separation so it's going to be tough....

I don't get the Williams piece either, they did the same thing with Elliott last year in preseason. We've heard decent reports about Williams and Sanders in practice at times but really it's so hard to evaluate rbs in practice without tackling.
 
why is Mazi not called a bust already. Who made that pick after the Taco bust pick ?? Not to mention other busts on the roster.
maybe the scouring team at the star is not that great.

Who hasn't called Mazi a bust? Pretty sure that the only thing he is called.

I think everyone that says vahn should back up blue or makes the team is out of their mind. Experiment failed, time to move on. Mafah deserves his chance bc he's the only one that showed he can run through first contact. Stats aren't impressive for preseason but if you watched the games you'd realize that two big runs were called back bc of penalties that had nothing to do with the plays.
My problem with Blue is that he just can't stay healthy, it was ankles at UT and its still ankles. If Mafah had done the same and been hurt, id say risk him on going to practice squad. This forum loves blue but really has no reason other than he played for UT. He wasn't even the starter and he's only giving you 9-10 carries a game and hell get injured again. He's also not as dynamic as some here seem to think, he's fast but he's not a cutter or going to juke anyone in the open field. Who is going to get you the 3 yds in the red zone? Williams, no. Sanders, no. Leupke, no. Davis, maybe, we never really experimented with it, that guy would be mafah, he falls forward and likes to play physical.

Are you going to be ok if Deuce makes the team? It also would prove how wrong you are about Deuce. You going to be ok?
 
Well that changes that. I wonder if they will go Sanders or Duece on the intitial 53 now. I assume Sanders. I mean you just need to end the Deuce experiment even though I think Sanders stinks also. Personally I’d go with Malik Davis but doubt they will.

OL La'el Collins​

The Cowboys re-signed Collins during training camp. He's spent a lot of time in the organization and is a good friend of Dak Prescott. Don't be surprised if he lands back on the practice squad after this initial dust settles. - Todd Archer, ESPN
 

When is the NFL roster deadline?​

The Cowboys must have their roster trimmed down to 53 players by 4:00 p.m. (Eastern time) on Tuesday.

It’s just roster maneuvering.

They did it with Nate Thomas last season well.
