I feel like I am living in Groundhog Day. Two years hearing how they want to be physical and the. See them enter year two as a botttom 5 rb and DT room (and that is being generous). They just can’t be considered a serious franchise. I hope I am missing something and I am totally wrong. History is on my side though.

All those words by Shotty wanting to be physical and this is what they give him. Hollow words.

There are a lot of variables involved when cuts are made.

Sometimes it's not a matter of competing against another player, it's a matter of competing against your contract.

If Player A makes three times as much as Player B but Player A is only incrementally better than Player B, then they might go with Player B to save cap money which they might spend on an upgrade somewhere else on the roster.

There is also potential. At this point, Player A is better than Player B but it is agreed that player A has found his ceiling whereas Player B has the potential to far exceed Player A......eventually.

There is also the ability to stash. Player A is better than Player B and you want to keep both. However, due to Player B's position, he would be more likely not to pass through waivers.

Although Player A is better than Player B, you cut Player A because you are more confident that he will pass through waivers. It's a gamble, of course.

I am curious to see what happens to the Cowboys when Jerry gets called home (assuming that I manage to outlive Jerry and Stephen outlives Jerry). I have a feeling that when given complete control that Stephen will be a slightly different cat than his dad.
Stephen was born on 3rd base. He's never built anything or succeeded on his own. He has no idea what he is doing, and only has his position due to nepotism. No other sports franchise would hire him to do what he supposedly does for the Cowboys. I don't think he'll be much different from Jerry as far as results go.

Never a good sign when a veteran is getting heavy minutes in preseason game 3. Especially the cowboys who sit their super spares.

It also speaks volumes on maxi. He didn’t get cut but tells you how far away he is.

Sure, but nobody was going to claim Sanders. Dallas could have picked him back up after they moved Mafah to IR. In the unlikely event Sanders was claimed, Dallas could just bring back Davis- possibly a better player anyway.
Eagles cut their LS knowing every team is committed to one to save a roster spot. They’ll re-sign him after 24 hours. Sometimes it’s the little things that make a difference.

4 rbs and a fullback doesn’t make any sense to me
With keeping only 5 WR's, with 4 RB's and TE, we have the good intention of trying to run the ball more. That's how it makes sense to me. As a Dake hater you should welcome that, no?
