Yes I know you and I are grasping at straws trying to be the voice of reason in here but they do have enough to do team defense if Washington can go to the championship game last year with our backups from 2023 You know Fowler and Armstrong were backups right I think that little group that we have can do some damage with the right scheme.. We're now improved on the inside and we have two 1st round picks and we don't have to deal with the $47 million hit that's the only positive thing I could take from this parsons is a big loss this hurts he's a homegrown talent but the stuff that's gone on the last 72 hours I'm glad it's over.....

Just a bad look the stuff that happened at the game things were said this week him trying to fake his injury to a point where now he gets $47 million what happened to that third MRI what happened to the grievance it it was just too much..

I'm not glad his gone, but I'm glad we got a still-pretty-good DT for him since DT has been one of our weaknesses for years and glad that we got ammunition for drafting a QB since we are going to have to do that either next year or the year after. I assume it will be next year because it may take all four picks to get us in position to draft one.
 
Thank God this whole thing is over. It probably won't be over here for a while though. I'm guessing there will be Cowboys "fans" rooting on Parsons to drop Dak three times when we play the Packers in week 4 (I think).

I've not cared much for Parsons. He is clearly talented. His closing speed was amazing, especially his first two years. But he gives every indication of a problem player and definitely doesn't seem like he'd motivate those around him or elevate anyone else's play through example/leadership. Yeah, it'll hurt in the Xs and Os way now that teams don't have to give him extra attention in their game plans, but there are also advantages to not having a one-dimensional player on the edge. He could chase down QBs but wasn't what was needed against the run and wasn't all that good in the instances he was asked to drop back into coverage. I also get the vague feeling (and that is ALL it is...just intuition) that his career may be relatively short and his hyper-productive window even shorter.

We probably all hoped for another lower round pick or two, but I don't hate this deal. We needed help at DT and probably got it. If the Cowboys swing and miss on both of the picks they got, then maybe this won't look so good in hindsight. But while it's unlikely they'll end up with two all-world players, I doubt we end up with two more Mazi Smiths either.

If his sacks vs the Giants and Panthers made him only the second player in NFL history to record 12+ sacks for four straight seasons..... why haven't more pass rushers who played against the Giants, Panthers and the rest of the SAME exact teams Parsons played against, manage to place themselves in the history books like Parsons did?

Reggie White was the only player in history to have recorded 12+ sacks four straight seasons until Parsons joined him. If it was so easy to do, why are their only two players in history to have accomplished this?

Help me understand what you're watching by answering those two simple questions for me please.

I secretly wanted the Ravens to trade for Parsons. It would be to an out of conference team and one Dallas doesn't play this season. Plus, if I had a 2nd team, it would be Baltimore.

Now, Dallas has to hope the edge players they have can mitigate the loss of a double digit sack guy. Parsons is going to play in a top 10 defense in Green Bay, smart move by them to see if he puts them over the top.

Not true my friend. Applies to traded players as well. The compensation will be how the league views the Cowboys losses vs. gains during the off season. But they're not awarded strictly to losses in free agency.

The whole team already knows where it is, now. A DT will now just work into scheme.

You always want more, but I'm not completely dissatisfied with the trade either. There's no way to know what the future holds, but this trade probably isn't going to be the disaster that some fans of Parsons think it will be.

One, I think having some interior pressure will help that. And two, some of those DEs are going to have to step up.

Fowler had a good year last year and may be able to help in that regard. Maybe EZ can show what they were seeing from him in camp. Kneeland is in his second year as a second-round pick, so we have to hope for something there. James Houston actually has shown some pretty good stuff in games. I have less hope in Williams than some, but there is some potential with this group.

There wasn’t anyway a team could commit that much money to three players.
