Schottenheimer: Blue has to be more consistent to play in games

I've never understood why people here thought that a 5th round rookie would come in here and set the world on fire. If he was THAT type of back, he would NOT have lasted until the fifth round. I think that he has a CHANCE to be good, but it is not a sure thing.

In related news, I'm sure glad that we didn't even bother to call Derrick Henry. That dude is completely washed.
/sarcasm
Well, with good blocking that rookie has the speed to house it. So, he could set the world on fire if he get's his head & heart right.

It's not uncommon for later round RB's to far exceed their draft pedigree.

And yes, Henry is stinky.

This is ultimately the fault of our GM for not getting a legitimate running back in the offseason. We’re banking on a 5th rounder to be a difference maker. Very scary proposition
They look like they can run the ball so far.

So you’d rather have a back with zero juice? A guy who gets caught from behind by a LB? And oh yeah the same who fumbled and might have cost us the game? By all means let’s keep rolling with that guy.

Absolutely weak, Schotty! The same things were said about Dak his rookie year back in 2016. Good thing both Romo and Moore got injured, the Cowboys were forced to start their "inconsistent" 3rd string QB. The rest was history. Dak proved many coaches and scouts wrong, and still is.

You did it your way. Talking about "inconsistent", you kept Blue at home while you played a "consistent" fumbler. What happened? Lost the damn game! Why haven't you and your assistants been punished, Coach!?!? Y'all were dead wrong, and it cost the franchise/team a victory against the defending champions at their home!

You never leave your best weapons at home! You were given the head coaching job and pay to COACH UP these types of players and HAVE THEM READY TO CONTRIBUTE for the team! Looks like you are failing so far, Schotty!

Stop it.

Washington just had a 7th rounder run wild this weekend.

Good RBs can be found everywhere in the draft.

Wow not a good sign.
Probably doesn't know the plays or doesn't work hard enough is my guess.

And to think we could have picked up Henry a while back for a few million a year. Wouldn’t be worried about any of this. And I hope Blue is not having fumbling problems. The fumble in the red zone cost us big time. And the hit did not look that bad. He don’t drop the ball then and who knows what would have happened..
