If Jerry paid him they would just say “only 1.5 sacks in 2 games and you couldve traded him for 2 first”

You trade him for 2 first and all of a sudden everyone knows that pressures, and taking on double teams are just as effective as sacks

Unless youre a cowboy then its you need 5 sacks a game, anyone can take on a double team

The problem with a trade of this magnitude is that until the Cowboys can progress above where they currently have been the criticism and jury will be out.

And it will continue being a topic until we can rise above . It doesn’t help that the team he went to is looking better as well.

I’m afraid this hot topic isn’t going away anytime soon regardless whether Jethro brings it up or is grilled by the media . And as long as he presents it a good move then it’s going to held over his head.

If Jethro had taken a different approach that it was unfortunate to lose a talent like Micah and while they hoped the consolation of draft picks might compensate them at some point they are concerned of the immediate impacts losing this level of talent could present .

But his ego will never allow him at least publicly to acknowledge he mismanaged this entire negotiation and the trade was nothing more than a bailout once it had reached an impasse instead of a planned strategy to build a better team.

The bottom line is this. We already knew Micah is a 12-plus sack a year guy. And we all knew everytime he makes a play for Green Bay social media would be all over it saying "look how stupid Dallas was"!!!!

But until we see who the Cowboys get with the two extra first round picks and until we see how those players' careers unfold, we cannot say this was a good or bad trade. Simple as that.

The way the Packers look, I am not sure they will be getting players in the top 30.

I think the Packers were a very good defense last year (I checked and they were 5th overall). This year they look like the best defense in football by a wide margin after shutting down 2 of the top offenses in the NFL. I dont know how one honestly tries to justify this trade.

Everybody knows in football, you need a qb to compete. Letting Dak walk with no succession plan isnt the same as letting Micah go. Plus Dak had a no trade clause so our option wouldve been to either try and accomodate him to a preferred landing zone or let him play the season out and walk for a compensatory pick

How many Elite DEs have won a superbowl in the last decade? TJ Watt and Myles Garrett are one and done in the playoffs every year just like Micah

As constructed we couldn't compete. We are in the midst of a soft rebuild. Until they get better running the football and stopping the run, it won't matter who we have rushing the passer. As for Dak/Lamb, they haven't done anything being a one dimensional offense and have gotten exposed in the playoffs as well. They need to become more of a balanced offense. The last time they were close is when they dominated teams on the ground.

That's one way of looking at it but if those several players are rookies who could take 2/3 years before you get any major impact, then what. Coz 2/3 years we likely facing tough decisions on Lamb and Dak and maybe could other key players. Not to mention perhaps new coaches ( Schotty signed a 4-year deal through 2028).

Just seem Jerry is always in the middle of halfway rebuilding .........signing major pieces but ALWAYS missing key supplement pieces. What's crazy is that supplemental pieces can be filled fairly cheaply, but he chooses to bottom feed.

You’re right, but they were also several players away when he was here on his rookie deal and refused to add them. It’s constant mismanagement and misevaluation, with no real multi year plan. It’s a year to year reactionary thing.

Micah Parsons should have been either traded or signed a year ago.

I do agree with your point, and at least there’s a chance to parlay the picks into more, but they aren’t going to spend the cap savings on outside players….as they should to maximize the return on the trade. They will overpay who is already here, and rely on draft picks, most of which don’t pan out, and they overrate.

So, even if they DO manage to create a situation where they are in an open window, they will blow it again, just as they did in 2021-23. They should have been doing everything possible to win while Parsons and Lamb were on rookie deals. They chose the opposite, and lost every time because they didn’t have enough horses to overcome the fact that Shanahan and LaFleur are miles better than any HC Jerry would ever have.

well, he is right - Parson been here and we haven't won. He isn't even considered the best DE. How many of the current top 5 DE were in the Superbowl the last few years.

We weren't winning with or without Micah And we're not winning 4 years from now no matter who Jerry gets with those picks. We will either get good players and surround them with scrubs or Jerry will pick scrubs or just throw away the picks. After 30 years Jerry still doesn't know how to build a championship team no matter how much he talks.

I understand the chances of another Micah are highly unlikely but 2 or 3 starters in what mold.........Tyler/Booker/Lamb or Mazi/Taco. All I am saying is yeah, Jerry can make this a nice windfall if he doesn't try and get cute.
Personally, since we have additional draft capital, I would tweak the scouting/personnel dept a bit with some fresh talent. Hell, pluck one of Howie Roseman's assistants.....lol Do something different, anything.

I’d argue the Cowboys draft as well in the first round as Eagles do.

But I don’t expect to hit on every first. 3 out of the 4 would be great. Realistically? 2 out of the 4z

Mazi and Taco I had no issues with. They were solid prospects. My advice would put more emphasis on motor and heart. The trenches aren’t for the weak.

Just 4 months ago, Jerry offered him $40M+ but now says we are better off w/o him? Jerry has been around Micah damn near every day for 4 years but just found out we are a better team w/o my best player. Again I don't have a problem with the trade per se......just Jerry spinning to save his _____ like we are idiots.
