Jerry is still trying to rationalize the Micah trade

But we should be able to get, as a matter of fact, we've got one on the field. And of course, people say 'But he's no Micah.' Well, I'm not going to debate that at all because Micah is very, very special. But I'll tell you this right now, by the time this happens, and as we look forward to Dak's time, when we made his contract and we look forward, this was the best way to maximize our chance to get a Super Bowl for Dak."
 
After the first two Packers games, the Cowboys would be lucky to get a top 30 pick in 2026.

The Packers just defeated two of the three most powerful teams in their conference, back-to-back games #1 and #2.

And Micah Parsons is just getting warmed up. Their offense has already found themselves, even without much from their #1 pick, WR Mathew Golden.

The Packers just needed one more element to make their defense as dynamic as their offense and Jerry delivered the goods on a golden platter. Packers' fans chanted, "Thank you Jerry" after the game and it should feel like a slap in the face to Cowboys fans.

My question is, what have Cowboys fans done that convinces Jerry Jones that we are that gullible and naive that we would still believe anything Jerry says?

I was referring to Dak and Lamb. They haven’t been enough for more success . But we paid them.

I think fans forgot but in that 12 win season run it was our defense which was much improved.

And we should have continued addressing weaknesses not aborting a strength.

Yeah I understood and fully agree. Just mentioned it as another bonehead decision that hurt the team the following year.
 
I’m sorry, but trading Parsons for what basically will be a pair of 2nd round picks was monumentally stupid.

You want to trade Mica, trade him to the Titans or some other wasteland team, not a SB contender who is looking to add the final piece to a SB run.

If those picks were projected top 10, fine, no problem with the trade. But the Packers, really? The one team that consistently kicks your arse?

And Jerry wonders why everyone is laughing at him.

Jerry's been watching too much NBA and Brian Wright of the Spurs who he is not. I'd hope that they just use the 2 picks on the 2 players in the first cause he's not savvy or smart enough to maximize the value with the rest of the NFL GMs.

A savvy GM could identify desperate teams and flip a first for a future first and some addl picks or other positive gains. With Jerry, I'd see him accept 2-3 lower picks in a trade down for a first and call it a day. This wouldn't equate the value of a MP in saying he got you 3, 4, 5, 6 players where a 3rd won't even make the team (unless they carry them on the team just to save face sigh). He's just blowing smoke as usual.

I put more blame on the defense. But it is true that our O comes up small in big games too. I'm really interested in how the Cowboys play in week 2. Because I consider the Giants a crap team.

4, 5, 6 players would require trading something the Cowboys received for more players. Right now it’s three. Clark, a guy they’ll draft in April, and a guy they’ll draft in April 2027. That’s three. What does Jerry intend to trade away? Jerry is so ****** stupid he has no idea what he’s saying let alone what he’s going to do. 4, 5, 6 players? What a moron.

Jerry has proven to be an inept general manager. His systems for managing a roster and the cap are sub standard and his instincts are just terrible.

His absolute unwillingness to ever rebuild has meant that the direction of the team is always to “stay relevant” but not necessarily to build a champion.

Jerrys desperation to get his own Super Bowl has forced him to never make smart decisions consistently over time.

Even if trading Micah was the smart play, Jerry has earned no confidence from fans that he won’t continue with stupid moves to follow.

Just looking at his two moves after the trade shows the confusion and lack of cohesive planning in the front office.

The plan is to bamboozle fans into believing that every move for the next four years either a direct result of the trade or “Micah Money” used to sign the next $200m in salaries .
 
I haven’t read through all 13 pages of this thread yet. But one point I want to make is don’t jump to too many conclusions right now. Micah and the Packers are in the honeymoon stage and also Micah always played well in September and October. It’s November and December on that is a concern. Also it’s a long season and we have no idea how good the Lions and Commanders are. But in the end I guess that’s just me coping but here’s 2 things I go to that I don’t feel is coping:
1. Our defense was bad last year and in the years prior in the playoffs. How is paying Micah more money going to fix that? We need to fundamentally rebuild our defense and I believe we’re in the process of doing that.
2. Go back and watch the 2023 Miami and Bills games. Then watch the Packers playoff loss. I don’t know what he’ll do in Green Bay but in Dallas Micah played poorly against playoff teams late in the season and played poorly in the playoffs. That’s what he did in Dallas. So paying him more money to play in Dallas would not have fixed that.

I believe if Micah plays well in December and in the playoffs for the Packers that will be more indicative of the culture problems and coaching problems of the Cowboys. Paying Micah that much money would not fix the culture or coaching issues. I may be in the minority here but I hope Micah does play well against playoff teams late in the year became that will cause our FO to say “hey what’s going on? How does a player play well for another team but not ours?”.

I never mentioned Jones. I was referring to the new coaching staff.
 
Get to the championship game in the next 2 seasons and it will be justified.

Parsons was never going to win this team a Super Bowl. Green Bay will find out just who he is.
