Dallas Ranked 1 in Offense and Dead last in Defense

Through four weeks, the Cowboys have the #1 offense in the NFL at 404.3 yards per game. But they also have the worst defense, ranked 32nd, giving up 420.5 yards per game.

I think Dallas would be a top 5 team if defense was at 50%.
The question is if we had Micah how good or bad would the defense be? Because I think this is a scheme issue.

'How 'bout those Cowboys, Occifer?"

The middle of the defense is the problem.

That & the uncovered deep balls.

The DBs look so confused pre snap.
Trying to force this group of DBs to play zone is about as effective as trying to stop a flood with a paper towel.

Not knocking the offense, although it did have its struggles in the second half against the Eagles and Bears, but I wonder if it would be No. 1 in yards if you take out the overtime yardage. I think we've played in the only two overtime games this year.

Truth is, the offense wasn't good enough against Philly (20 points) or Chicago (14 points). Sure, the defense was worse, but that just shows that we're probably going to have to average around 30 points a game to have a chance.
They're splitting hairs We probably have a better record if our defense was better and we didn't have to go into overtime Y you have to have a bigger picture perspective the rankings you are who you are just like your record you are who you are and unfortunately our defense is by far the worst part of our team and yes the offense has had a couple struggles with drops and a couple fumbles but they are a very good group especially when Lamb gets back and the fact that we've been playing with backup offensive lineman and some of that play calling I wouldn't even count the first quarter of this last game did you see that basically they were playing to punt I don't know what they were thinking..

Yeah only if the Packers pay half his salary no way I'd want him back here Not for any draft pick he's still not worth the money you guys don't get it that's a lot of money to pay a defensive end that's quarterback money for a guy who's not as impactful as he's being touted as he's a great player he's a pass rush specialist he's very good he's great at times but he is not worth any of that contract that's why Jerry thought somewhere between 40 and 42 million was where the number was with certain guarantees They he forced his way out of here and I don't want him back not for any money not for any reason...

This is the same thing we had to go through as Mavericks fans with Luca Doncic except for the situation was completely reversed he wanted to be here he was forced out of here the man overnight basically woke up with a bag over his head and they shipped him over to the Lakers and the fans had no idea the coach had no idea I want Luca back I would take Luca back Luca was a Mavericks fan he didn't ask for a trade The other guy forced his way out of here overpriced himself and if you look at last night that's just basically what he's been for us..
Well they would have to pay his signing bonus.

typical. by the time we fix this defense number 4 will be done. just how this works in dallas

It's 2012 Tony Romo all over again. We can never have a good offense and good defense at the same time.

NFL defenses are all trash.

Packers have a lot of talent on defense & it’s still trash.

What we need is a defense that will just have guys in position to make a play. We need smarter guys.

Kind of solidifies the fact that:

Defense WINS championships

Not at all.

Points & possession of the football win championships.

NFL is not a defensive league. It’s a QB league.

We finally have some depth at the OLine position.

Story of the Cowboys. The passive FO will allow an obvious sore spot to fester. If we have a number 1 offense, you would think they would bolster up that defense and get in some DC to see if they can get SOMETHING better than what we're seeing. Instead, the solution will be to be passive and put it on Dak and trash him when he isn't scoring 40 every game.

That's just ridiculous he wasn't worth the money then he's still not worth the money he he lost to the Browns that's right he had zero sacks last week he just now was on the defense that gave up 40 points to the lowly Cowboys he didn't do anything to help them win the game absolutely so ridiculous that you still think he would have helped us win when he was part of the Green Bay Packers loss in the playoffs Or do you forget games like that where he was there but not there...lmao Can tell you this right now with a straight face He's a great player but I think the Packers would have the same exact record right now with or without him he has not had one of those games where he was impactful enough that you can look and say OK it was him is to the reason why they won the game absolutely not not won yet he hadn't had a signature win.... Most people will say the Cowboys still made the right choice in the moment right now I still say even though our defense needs help and it will get on track at some point the trade was still the best thing for the team and that is a fact..

I'm pretty sure I just said that in the same exact thing he replied to I said 2020 and Mike Nolan but I think it could get back on track like we did last year I think eventually Matt will figure it out...
I was just joking man

I'm not sure if this is good news or bad news, but the offense overall has not played that well. The Cowboys are literally thriving on offense because Dak has played some of the best football of his career in 2.5 of the 4 games so far. We need better OL play (especially against the pass) and more consistent results from our receivers. The good news is that is very possible. The bad news is its simply not realistic to expect Dak to play at this high of a level all season long.

At least we are not Baltimore they had SB aspirations but like Dallas can't stop a toddler on a tricycle. :muttley:
