Cowboys hopeful Guyton will play Sunday

He’s quite injury prone. He’s not completely terrible but doesn’t look like a first round pick out there. I’d start Nate at LT and maybe consider having Steele and Guyton share time at RT.
He is the perfect Cowboy. Talented but soft as butter.

Yeah Steele on run plays and Guyton on passes lol

Because he is. He is tied for 3rd in the NFL for most pressures allowed, with 16. Thats actually more than in his 1st four games last year. He is definitely a below average LT right now
Yeah he has shown slight improvement but definitely not good enough yet. His draft position will grant him time to sink or swim this season.

How are people seeing him as below average as well?
The issue with Guyton isn't that he is getting beat all the time, but when he does get beat its often for quick pressure which is the ultimate part that you want to avoid. The expectation with OL against the pass is that you're going to win your 1 on 1 matchup north of 90% of the time. If you sample 10 pass sets and you win 8 of them, 1 is a late pressure and the last one a quick pressure thats not a good job. If all of your OL are winning 80% of their pass snaps that means your QB is going to be under pressure nearly every time they drop back to pass. This is sort of the opposite of the baseball player where getting out 7 of out 10 times still gets you to the hall of fame. The consistency for Guyton is just nowhere near where you want it to be.

I'm simply hoping Guyton will learn to play EVER. For a first round pick, he is flirting with bustdom. Hopefully he starts turning it on, but I'm on record as wanting BOTH tackles replaced.

Does anyone know why Thomas came in for Steele last night? I know Steele returned but hadn't heard why he was out of the lineup.

That is one stat. What do they call a pressure?

Fans are not scouts and not coaches to say he is below average. I need more than that stat. To say otherwise.

Maybe we can improve our LB's by replacing them with scarecrows.

I'd rather see Guyton sit out a week. Yeah, we need him, but concussions are nothing to mess with. Decades of evidence show this. It's not worth his long-term cognitive health.

Its a combination of hurries, hits allowed and sacks.

So if I, as a "fan" cant say that he is below average, then how are you as a "fan" able to give your opinion?

What evidence do you have that he is not below average? Because both the stats and the eye test say otherwise
