I’ve been pretty harsh on Dak, and I’m still not convinced that letting Dak go would have been better than paying him what he demanded.

But setting that aside, Dak seems to be playing some of the best football he has played in his career this year. He still seems to be getting off to his usual slow starts but he seems to be starting to eliminate some of the mistakes that he normally makes.

I’m not a Dak “fan” but it’s nice to see him somewhat starting to earn some of that money that Jerry gave him.

He's the passing yards leader with Pickens as his #1. Incredible how he can get things done consistently year after year offensively when nobody at Pittsburgh could resemble an offense with Pickens as their #1.

I totally understand the implications. Go Cowboys.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. You all have short term memories with Dak. He was playing great all year in Season 2023 and almost got the MVP, came in 2nd to Lamar. We all know how that season ended.

He plays good to great at times during the regular season.

His issues appear during playoffs and big games. More specifically I think he has issues when coaches game plan for him and show him things he hasn't seen before. He then gets the deer in the headlights look we are all so familiar with.

The defense gave up a 95 yard possession and in a instant we were down 21-0. Dak had to force it a lot which caused the 2nd Interception.

Not entirely true. Dak struggled the first 5 or 6 weeks in 2023.

Indeed, he's been a dud in the playoffs. But I also think the Cowboys have been outcoached in every single one of those games, so that's also on the HC/OC.

If Dak takes the Cowboys to a playoff birth THIS season, I would be really impressed....with him and Shotty. This simply doesn't feel like a playoff roster, especially not with all the early injuries. I think the NFC has a lot of decent teams this season, and only a few bottom-tier teams (Saints and Panthers). So if this team goes on a run and ends up in the playoffs, even as the 7th seed, I would tip my hat to this Cowboys team for sure.

The next 7 weeks will define whether this is truly a rebuilding year (likely) or a possible playoff appearance. LOL @ that the Cowboys have 2 premier Monday night games in week 9 and week 11 vs. the small-market Cardinals and the hapless Raiders. Wow. The Cowboys truly are a ratings bonanza, and some of that is because Jerry is such an easy owner to loathe....yet it has created MASSIVE wealth for his family. Hmmm...maybe he's onto something: "All publicity is good publicity when the end goal is maximized profit."

Are we going to keep doing this every time Dak has a good game against a poor defense? And why is this thread not giving props to the receivers who also did a great job?

Remember the whole "it's a team game" the stans are always harping on? Dak didn't throw the ball to himself.....

This is as good as football as I've seen Dak play.

In 2023, he had everything going his way. Good skill players around him, a great OL, and a 32nd ranked slate of pass defenses. This year has been much more challenging roster wise, and he's playing even better.

I have said before that Dak plays to the sum of the parts around him. This year, the parts around him are a reinvigorated running game, an OL that doesn't pass block well, and receiving corps that's basically down to one player. The sum of that looks like a quick-throwing bus driver. But he is putting this team on his back and elevating his play, in a way I have never really seen.

Williams is so much better. Feed me feed me.

Honestly, I think Dak and Schotty are good together. We just need a defensive coach really bad.

I also have been pretty harsh on Dak but I agree he’s playing his best ball right now. How can you watch him and not think that? What surprises me the most is how well he is play coming off that major injury. Yesterday he seemed more decisive with the ball and pushed the ball downfield. Also he did this without CD, Beebe and Booker. I was impressed and excited about it. I hope he keeps it up. I also hope Hofman and Bass continue to be adequate.
