Push comes to shove, probably would make the deal. Crosby is a top 5 edge, in his prime and under control for 3 seasons at a discount.

Would not be a smart move. Need to get good those 1st round picks on rookie deals so you can add talent elsewhere to the roster.

High end pass rushers aren’t cheap and rarely become available. Prospects usually don’t start hitting until yr 2 at the earliest. You can address it in different ways, add a huge piece or add a strong rotation that comes in waves.

Reason why I think Crosby is the perfect fit, he is exactly what this defense needs: physical player where we have a bunch of finesse types outside of Clark
