I will say this. If we would have won last night and looked decent in winning I would have been extremely mad that this was the trade Jerry was all giddy about. To even think about being competitive we probably needed this trade, a Maxx Crosby level DE, and a safety. Then hope that Overshown and Revel are ready to go and actually live up to their potential after coming off injuries.

I don't understand the hate on this move. If it were a 3rd? 4th? Absolutely. A 7th? We also control him for 3 years?

Wilson is a plug and play MLB. He is above average, a captain and replaces Murray. Wilson is graded 54.8 on PFF, Murray is 39.7 and is rated 80/80. Shemar James is rated 73/80.

They need somebody who can read and react to these dumpoff passes and keep them from going from 3 yards to 15.

I have zero problems sending a late round pick for a guy like Wilson.

He immediately is the best healthy LBer on the roster. And he will at least know where to line up and what his responsibilities are lol… Murray has been awful.

But this is masking the flaws that are emerging. Not only is the D atrocious, the offense is looking like fools good once again.

Anytime they face a solid D, they self destruct and lose. And this is par for the course for Dak and the offense over his career.

Too many penalties and mistakes. Too many missed opportunities and questionable play calling. Too little production when they need it the most.

I expect a couple more trades today to focus on the D. Not sure the offense is truly “elite” enough to warrant the effort.

A classic Jerry move is trading a high pick for a WR to boot too lol.

At least with Wilson, it's a capped ceiling, but at least a known floor, something better than shipping a 4th for Mingo or Lance.

Assuming there are no other deals in the works for Dallas, is there another GM in the league (or owner), who could drum up more interest both among his own fan base and the national audience over an utterly inconsequential deal involving a 7th round pick and a fringe player who is barely hanging on in the NFL?

As a football move, this is completely meaningless to everyone outside of the Wilson and maybe Sanborn families.

But from a PR standpoint, it is difficult to imagine Jerry getting more bang for so little buck.

with as bad as this defense is I am actually fine with that use the rest of the season as extended preseason see what you got deep on the bench going against teams other "starters" and then formulate the off season. I mean that is what I would do but I am not Jerry.

Murray is awful, so you are right. He is worth a 7th.

I just hope Jerry doesn't do anything dumb with our early picks in the next couple of years. If this is his only move, I will breathe a sigh of relief.

I believe it was for just a 7th rounder. Which isn't a bad deal. Though he is just like Jack Sanborn. I guess since Jack is now on IR we get a guy that is just like him for a low cost.
