TRADED Schefter: Cowboys trade for Logan Wilson (7th round pick)

Thankfully the compensation is low. Bengals were seeking a 6th round pick so my guess is Jerry gave up a 5th but that doesn’t ruin our off season plans at least.

A classic Jerry move is trading a high pick for a WR to boot too lol.

At least with Wilson, it's a capped ceiling, but at least a known floor, something better than shipping a 4th for Mingo or Lance.
Yeah the Wilson trade is wayyyy better than these. If we had traded a 7th for Lance and Mingo I wouldn't hate those trades but 4th rounders were just dumb.

Low cost in draft capital, but if he can't play he does make pretty good money. Murray money. Need to be right on these type of decisions. You know the Cowboys are going to cry poor this offseason too.

All in all, I have no idea if he can play. With this DT and CB combo, I don't think it matters much at LB. Sure he could improve things but it would be minimal imo.
It is costing them 3 million for the rest of the season. They can release him at no dead money charge or even restructure is current contract.

7th rounder and the only guarantees are this season if he is done as player you basically cutting a 7th rounder with no cap hit.

I'm counting down the minutes, hoping we don't make any moves. Long way to go yet.

Look I get that our season is cooked.

But we need help inside. Murray is the worst LB in the league and James is too slow.

Wilson + Overshown is a massive upgrade at LB
Yea. I am ok with this, if it is not a one-year rental. He seems to be an upgrade that can help us for a few years.

For a 7th its not a bad trade.. last night showed though you are maybe a whole DB group away from being average this includes our "Stud" Bland...

So a LB that's not good enough to start for the only D worse than the Cowboys is an upgrade? Is Murray really that bad?
