How was the offense so poor vs ARZ?

The difference is the offensive line. The Cowboys offensive line had a horrible game against Arizona for some reason. Perhaps they are not as good as some make them out to be.

Interestingly, they had all their players back and they were actually worse. They seemed to play better when Bass and Hoffman were playing.
 
How was it so poor, wait until Maxx takes over the game and we can't get a pass off!!!!

Or

We may have a better game Dak throws for 400 yards, only to play the eagles next and look like a dud!!

Kinda answered your question a bit with......."The OL got dominated.......". Pressure, getting hit, dodging defenders will do that to any QB. Can't put all on the OL, but that would be a start for bad things.....passing or running.

1000% agree. I mean if he places the ball better then those fumbles don't happen.....its all about accuracy

Spot on. Pass protection was pathetic.

Calais Campbell really stood out in winning most all his 1 v. 1 matchup snaps in dominating fashion but their whole d line dominated the Cowboys o line as a unit.

And yes, I also agree that Bass and Hoffman performed better when they were in.

Needs to be corrected like yesterday as the defense is already bad, if the offensive line continues to suck as in the last 2 games, they are looking at a lot more losses against this upcoming schedule.

I really think the get it out extremely quickly style offense shown against Green Bay should be the staple of this offense going forward.

What?

Sam Darnold was 16 for 16 with 4 TDs in just the first half of their game last week. He still finished the game with more TD's than incompetions.

Also, you take away the 2 defensive TDs yesterday and they still win by 8 points.

So, not sure what you're watching.
 
It's a week to week league, and talent levels across teams are close.

Arizona has spent a ton of resources on their D line in the past year or two, and those guys all came to play.

Javonte rushed for 5.5 YPC and only got 15 carries. Start there.

Too many downfield passes bog down an O. Got to move the chains more consistently. Need a slot WR badly.
 
Same thing that happened to Buffalo vs the lowly Dolphins yesterday, or the Colts who almost blew it to the Falcons. Bears barely beat the Giants, Broncos barely squeaked by the Raiders, etc. Good units have bad games. Dallas just has them consistently at the worst possible times.

Unfortunately they might have to seriously consider replacing both Guyton and Steele. Neither are consistent at all and both got destroyed that game, which made Dak revert back to Deer in Headlights Dak, as OP said. Until he stops that crap it is hard to defend him to his detractors, at least in that regard. But constant pressure will do that to you, even though up until then he'd been handling pressure well. Kind of alarming that was our first game since the opener that we had the starting OL on the field together.
 
They didnt look ready to play at all, and the first year HC didnt have any answers. At some point when this happens the QB needs to start kicking people in the nutz.. especially on the OL. Dak has to realize his 1st year HC needs help in that situation and Guyton and Steele need peer pressure.. its the NFL and it Shouldn't be like that but i believe thats where this offense may be..
 
If only Dak could stop his teammates from fumbling when the offense is moving crisply into scoring position or stop the line from allowing jailbreak sacks in the red zone the offense would never struggle!! Why can't he just do that!!!

I don't get it how is it play callers supposed to keep calling plays from behind the chains, or you constantly having your players destroy the play with penalties, fumbles, mistakes, they can't block ,etcetera

you're right, they go back and they blame it all on the head coach and the play caller and forget without an offensive line and with the constant mistakes the two heads of this team in Prescott and Schottenheimer as far as offense goes they're being blamed for things they shouldn't they have no control over making sure that doesn't happen because overcoming that and a bad defense is just saying you might as well forfeit and never even show up on the field..

The last two weeks the answer to that question is why has the offense been so poor is the offensive line has been bad especially the tackles and the constant fumbling or penalties or both that's it it blows an entire office up that already struggling to try to score more than the defense is going to allow which is a lot right now that's a lot of pressure the pressure is starting to make them crack as well they're doing too much trying too hard they're trying to be cute like I don't think a coach would have ever passed up on a first drive field goal how did he not realize how bad his defense was they blamed him for that but he was right they needed a touchdown They need a touchdown on every drive or they're going to probably lose I can't blame him for passing up on that field goal but normally you just take the points on your first drive especially on the road you say OK that's a 3 points we're on the board first now they can relax but no not this team there's no relaxing they need 7 on every driver it's over I mean they're not even allowed to punt anymore...
