Twitter: Eagles OL mentioned Cowboys 5-Man front as a reason for their run struggles

The Eagles have struggled to run the ball all season.
They struggled some the 1st game vs us, other than QB runs we pretty must stopped their run game. I believe Shipley hit us for a big run but Barkley averaged under 3.5 yards per carry that day. But they really really struggled today. As a team they only got 63 yards on 18 attempts. Hurts was 7 rushes for 33 yards, Barkley was 10 rushes for 22 yards and Tank was 1 rush for 8 yards. We put clamps on their run game.

Our first meeting Hurts ran 14 times for 62 yards, Barkley ran 18 times for 60 yards, Shipley ran 3 times for 26 yards and AJ Dillon ran 3 times for 10 yards. Which came up to 38 carries for 158 yards.

Dallas for once winning in chess? We usually have a hard time playing checkers.
I agree, running this 5-2 front seems to have given Philly fits, Jerry is out of the doghouse with me right now. Getting Quinnen Williams and using this 5-2 is a savvy move, Dallas was able to handle the run as well as keep Hurts contained.

Barkley is on pace to have 1/2 the yards and TD’s with 2 YPC less v. last year.

At his current pace, he would finish with 1057 yards rushing.

Take out the Giants game where he rushed for 150 and he barely breaks 900.

He has 1, 100+ yard game this year. Last year he had 11.
Barkley is a weird player. Looks great for a year with New York, then plummets.

Looks great for a year with Philly and then plummets.

They were up 21-0 and Sawuon had carried it eight times.

With a lead like that, you think you would try to force the run game a bit.

Nope.

Only gave him four more carries the entire game.

Their OC is getting destroyed tonight by their fans.
