Quinnen Williams' Impact

Beating the SB champs down 21 is to be ignored .

We are talking about the alleged defensive impact of Williams as it relates to running the ball. Both teams ignored the run. They probably thought the Cowboys secondary was bad enough to be exposed and threw that much. Like I said, the Eagles OC, if anybody has been paying attention, has ZERO experience. They play an extremely conservative approach this year.

Stick to the topic...

Somone should forward KSK's info to Jerry. He's been begging the team for a stud DT for at least 15 years. lol

Williams is a blue chip player filling a position of SEVERE need for the Cowboys. Imagine how the D would look with both Williams and Parsons on the same line.

In case it hasn't been posted already (I was going to make a new thread for this but decided to post it here):

Dallas' Run Defense Since the Quinnen Williams trade:

-Opponents 30 carries, 90 yards, 3.0 average, 45.0 yards per game
-Excluding QB runs by Geno Smith and Jalen Hurts, 21.5 yards per game allowed to running backs
-Ashton Jeanty, Raheem Mostert, Saquon Barkley, and Tank Bigsby COMBINED: 19 carries, 43 yards, 2.3 average per carry

Yes the topic is down 21 you beat the SB champs who came in 8-2 .

After years of fans screaming for an impactful DT, look what happens when they finally get one.
I hope they continue and next year’s draft building on the defensive line
You can see Jerry’s face, he was finally smiling,
We can only hope

So this is the second week in a row a team just goes pass heavy. Now I’m wondering are teams intentionally not running because of him? I’ve never seen a player have that type of impact.
It depends on who’s ahead, you can’t run the ball if you’re too touchdowns down
But the Eagles there bend don’t break off fence as much as defense. Jalen is not a great quarterback, but that just goes and kind of proves. You don’t have to be.

Yeah but they started off pass heavy.

He must be very inspirational or motivational because the other DT’s have stepped up their game. I saw Solomon Thomas getting push on the interior on run plays.

For the second week in the row we had interior push . Hurts couldn’t step up inthe pocket this game. He was looking to do Al too but there was no lanes.

Even on the touchdown run by hurts on the draw I thought the play should’ve been made to prevent the td but our linebackers and safety’s jsut don’t make the stop.

Hurts has clearly been instructed by the coach to not make the risky play and jsut protect the all. Because he plays very safe(and I’m not criticizing that. But he’s clearly not the same qb front three years ago. That’s guy doesn’t make any risky throws. He doe not throw into any double coverage. He plays how I wanted Dak to play back when our our offense was full of elite playmakers, Zeke wasn’t flabby yet and we had a good OLine

Our entire team seemed a lot more physical, especially this time of year than I can remember.

I made a whole other thread of this but honestly speaking this team gets spanked yesterday with Micah on the field.

The ability now to stop teams from running does not let them kill the clock and garner time of possession.

Micah never made the interior better, he did make the other DE opposite to him, but not like how Q makes the whole line play Elite

So this and Pickens should really open their eyes over there that you can't build only through the draft.

He had 8 QB pressures today, for everyone that wets themselves over Micah’s numbers. Suddenly Osa is playing better. Kenny Clark is flashing more often. Lbs not getting eaten up. Just a beauty to see it.
I believe right now the Cowboys can go on a run. Not just Williams & Clark, but Logan Wilson and Agent O coming in were huge. Fixed 2 of our 3 LB problems. We have 2-3 very good youts in at CB. This team "can" make the playoffs. But I think that we are an addition of one truly great LB and one real lockdown corner from having a great D. I think Ezaraku will come along---yeah, if you get an edge rusher in the draft, great.

I'm older than most of you. I was a fan when Eddie LeBaron was QB. But one thing I've learned in both football and baseball is STRENGTH UP THE MIDDLE. If you have that, a heckuva lot of other things go your way. Indeed, the great 70s teams had TERRIBLE corners (but good safeties) until we got Everson Walls. But we had great strength from White, Dutton, Breunig, etc. Same with the early Jimmy teams: Casillas, Maryland, Lett, Jones an amazing set of DTs and either Norton or Jones at MLB.

So for the first time since La' Roi Glover, Dallas has quality at DT.
