Post Week 12 (2025): QB Combined Statistical Ranking

I think Dak is currently 16th in MVP projections.
Fwiw
I try to be realistic about it. He could have the best QB numbers in the league and if our team was 5-5-1, he'd be behind the guys with better records. Team success always will be a contributing factor for QBs whether it should be or not.

Team success should not dictate MVP. What a horrible way to judge MVP. The judges have it wrong.
It always has been used to judge QBs. Doesn't matter if it's unfair. It's just the way it is. Any fans expecting that to change are deluding themselves.

And you could argue Jonathan Taylor but we know the MVP is typically a QB award. Because it would probably be wide if they give it to Taylor this year but didn't give it to Barkley last season. But Taylor's TD's almost double Barkley TD's after the first 11 games of 2024 season.
Taylor is currently 3rd in the odds to win MVP

This year it's Goff not Dak who hasn't shown up in the big games so that's why no ones saying Goff is MVP.

Statistically he's good tho but the only real MVPs are Dak, Stafford, Maye and Mahomes
I think the NFL should just go ahead and give Dak the MVP for the brotherhood. You know, like Dak got his money for.

The team needs help on that side of the ball for sure.

Not sure what that has to do with these QB specific stats but I agree.

Good news is the D is better now than it was!
It is a team sport.

QB's job becomes significantly easier with a better defense.

Don't have to take as many risks. Playing with a lead is unheard of in Dallas.

A QB playing poorly and winning is impossible in Dallas.

Even with the defensive additions, we still feel like we have to go for it on 4th down, even though we have the best kicker in the league.

That screams we have zero faith in our defense.

KC is comfortable and can win games kicking 5 FG's.

The real highway robbery was Josh Allen getting MVP over Lamar Jackson who's numbers was better than Josh Allen's in every department. I guess they didn't want to give Lamar Jackson the MVP award for a 3rd time.
The MVP always comes the top two of this “combined stat”….if its a QB

Lamar was #1 last year, Allen #2.

But I think Henry’s epic season stole some votes from LJax

Our team is 5-5-1. Although that's not all Dak's fault, not even mostly his fault, no one is really saying Dak is MVP, either. Only some fans around here and talking heads who want clicks.

Goff has a better chance that Dak because of team success.
They're saying he should be....not that he will be.

It was in response to the post that shared the record of the top 5 and pointed out only Dak didn't have a winning record ignoring the fact that the defense was ranked 31st in points allowed whereas the other 9 in the top 10 were at least in the top 20 with the majority in the top 15.

I agree. If a QB ranks top 3 in all major categories including INTs, but the running game is in the bottom 5 and defense is bottom 5 and overall turnover differential is bottom half of the league, and the team has a 8-9 record do you not acknowledge the performance of the QB having a a MVP season despite overall team performance...the argument could be made the team may have been drafting #1 overall if not for the QB.

Yes, and Jayden Daniels, Joe Burrows, Lamar Jackson, Jordan Love, and Jalen Hurts are all above him go figure.

Also Mahommes have nearly identical stats with Dak having a significantly better completion % and QB rating and the Chiefs have only a 1/2 game advantage over the Cowboys yet Mahommes is 7th and Dak is 16th.

Mahomes is the GOAT. If he defense only gave up 8 points a game he would be undefeated.

I think that throwing in rushing TDs kind of makes this measurement less meaningful. I get a rushing TD where Lamar Jackson races 20 yards for a TD. However, Hurts is getting boosted up in these rankings due to having a bunch of 1 yard tush push TDs.

I hear ya...I know its a lot different than if the Cowboys held their opponents to 13 pts a game, Dak would be undefeated.

Dak has mostly played good to great this year, imo. All except maybe 3-4 bad games, he's been strong

To be fair, Id sure like to see Allen or Mahomes with CD Lamb and George Pickens lined up at WR. Allens receiving weapons are near the bottom ofthe league…imo.

But these weekly “Combined Stats” aren’t about Dak. At least not for me

This is being extremely pedantic I know....

But I find it odd that they use mainly last names.. but a couple of guys they use their firsts.

At first I thought.. maybe their last names are too long.. but nup...

Maybe I should go do something more productive than thinking about this sort of stuff.. lol

Yeah, they are for sure going by what people use the most when referring to then.

Most people call Dak by his first name but nobody calls Goff “Jared”

Yeah fair enough.

Nobody call Shedeur "Sanders" I guess, so a good point.
