Jerry offered Micah and a 1st for Quinnen Williams

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on @1053thefan on Micah Parsons: "Micah is very impactful, but we really hadn't won with Micah. No because of Micah. We just hadn't won because (the opponent) was able to work around us having Micah. They ran right at him or they basically threw the ball quicker. Those are simplistic things. And there was no question that if we could replace him with four or five top players, (George) Pickens type players ... that was all in the thinking with Micah Parsons."

He is such a liar. And there are people who believe this

It was also reported the Jets did not have the money to pay Micha.
That might be their best excuse for not doing that deal if what Jerry says is true, since they ended up trading Quinnen to us for a first and second. Micah and a first is a great deal. A first and a second for a premium 3-tech is not that great.

It also shows what it takes to get that quality of player. Trading sixth-round picks for players like Murray and Elam are rarely going to help the team. I mean, I don't mind taking a shot but the plan for roster-building has to be more than that if you're going to contend. Since we don't use free agency except to add cheap pieces (which you have to do to some extent), I'm all for trading premium picks (first three rounds) for proven players.
The Cowboys are now in a good place. They are capable of winning any game they play the rest of the season. They may not win every game they play, but they could.

But then why add "I thought that much of Williams"?
Could of been some deal where cowboys send a first back to the Jets but the deal had a lot more pieces to it.
He’s spinning and leaving out things like he always does - if he offered that straight up the Jets would have taken it

Jerry’s an idiot. And he’s also a liar. I don’t believe that for one second.

They are, and they need to hold on to what they've got next season and try to build on it. With these trades, this is the best the roster has looked in a while. We're still missing a dynamic DE after the Parsons trade, but the focus teams are having to give our DTs is helping the pass rush be good enough.

He either misspoke or he prob just leaving out other pieces of the deal to be more dramatic. Probably more picks and players involved but he cherry picked that part of it
Standard spinning

We don't really have an extra first-round pick anymore. We have a first for a second, which is better obviously than just having a second. Considering we'll have the lower of our two first-rounders next year (since the Jets get the better one), the picks pretty much cancel out. We got Clark and Quinnen for Micah.
do we have 2 1st rd picks in next years draft?you can move pieces around and say what you want.... but we have a damn stout Dline now, and in the upcoming draft we have 2 1st rd picks. Ill take that///...... oh, and we didnt pay Michael 46 million per season.

I think at that time you could have got 3 first round picks for Micah (or the value of that with players added into a trade)

On that basis Jerry was willing to part with the value of 4 first round picks for Q.Williams

Who cares, both the packers and cowboys are now both happy what they got
