Dak is just a regular season stat QB nothing more

Ok. I have no problem with what you're saying. With that said has there ever been a game we've won because of Dak in your opinion?
Dak tends to play very well against division opponents. So well he basically throttles them. Dak wins a lot of division games.

We have only bad options. That's reality unfortunately. But they could luck into drafting a great QB if they picked one high. And Jerry has to move on someday.
Uh........they already did. They got 2 perennial pro bowl QBs (Romo and Dak) with only giving up 1 4th round pick, how much more "luck: can you have.

Dak and Romo remind me of the guy in the pool room you see practicing all the time and he’s a great shot and can beat a lot of people but the minute you start playing for money he chokes. Something about the pressure in big games gets to them. Now don’t get me wrong! Everyone has a choking point. Some people’s it’s higher than others. Some people thrive under pressure. But that is where pedigree comes in. Yes I know the rest of the team must help out but it’s just like team of surgeons. The doctor actually doing the surgery needs his team but if he fails himself the surgery is botched.

Oh look! Another Trash on Dak thread

You don't simply need an All Pro, Top 5 QB to win playoff games. That idea is foolish & lazy in my opinion. If we didn't have one of the worst defenses in the NFL, and they weren't allowing 30+ points every game, made some crucial stops, actually shut a team out once, I would then turn to the mistakes the offense has made. I would then criticize the QB. Be honest, the two ideas are about as far apart as it could be in comparison.
Dallas has the most passing yards, 100+ rating, 2nd most TDs and this is with a rotating O line and an average rushing squad. Yes, they are average in every statistic.
So, why are we beating up the guy doing a pretty decent job? It's insane.

You need a complete team, period.

So which one of the current quarterbacks would you trade in Dak for? Put them on this team (with all its warts) and ride to a Superbowl this year?
Wow...dude. you din't hurt yourself moving the goal posts?

I never said any other QB will win us a super bowl. Never said it HAD to be a super bowl. What a ridiculous statement. How about a win against a bona fide playoff team ,maybe?

I have also said our defense is epically bad. Not sure any other QB will "win us a super bowl". But if there was a different QB, I'd assess HIM too.

"Aw poor Dak, eveyone picks on him, only Dak gets the blame". As if he's the only QB that gets it. Poor Dak.

Yes...generally speaking, QB get's the blame, the glory, and the money. I've heard there was grumblings in Philly...about a SUPER BOWL WINNING QB.

The "two ideas" do NOT have to be "far apart". Everyone knows our defense sucks. How much more do you have to talk about before getting to the offense?

One of the problems is people say Dak *IS* a top five (or better) QB. Zero TDs in the 1st half, forced to kick 5 FG's, and zero points in the final 2 possessions....is not terribly effective and hurts our defense. And already terrible defense.

This notion that people only blame Dak when talking about Dak...is incredibly insane.

And you know what...just looking at the thread title alone....it's not wrong. Dak's fault or not. It's either good nor bad....Just the reality of things.

Because recency bias makes fools of men. Like what is happening with Pickens and what happened with Lamb a few games ago. So instead of the long-term body of work on the season you instead have these acute, reactive, irrational and often illogical assessments that skew reality. The things that happen to Dallas are the things that happen to every team that loses a game on Sunday. And every team in the league has lost games due to a breakdown of offense, defense and special teams. Most times it is an amalgamation of the three. It's not something exclusive to the Dallas Cowboys.
Right...and that's why this place exists...to talk about it...maybe even vent a little bit.

One more time, we have the worst defense in the entire NFL. You guys just can't help yourselves. You can't look at the 60 minutes of game, but only the last couple drives. You are forced to cherry pick because you have no real argument. I couldn't care less you what you or the homers think, for that matter. That has nothing to do with my point.

I'd say it's you thatcan't look at the full 60 minutes of game.

I already said the defense sucks. You want me to stop there. Insane.

And I don;t care what you think either. Funny how that works. I stated facts. I found reasonable fact-based criticism.

You think zero TDs in the first half is elite. I don't.

You think 5 FGs is elite. I don't. I think those are defense victories. A sign of anoffense that just can;t punch it in

You think not being able to score in the last possessions is elite...when you need SOMETHING...is elite.

These are just FACTS...who cares if you don't like 'em. It's the truth. Heck I didn't even mention Dak at all...it's an offensive issue. But you triggered yourself anyway.

The guys you are whattabouting over to protect Dak have both won championships, thus your comparison is flawed. If you want to make a more accurate comparison you have to pick other QBs who have been starters for many years and also have never won a divisional round playoff game.

Dak also gets paid more than both QB's who have accomplished far more than Dak has.
Do you know what Matthew Stafford's playoff record was with Detroit, where he spent 12 seasons? 0 and 3. So why couldn't he get it done there? If he's so elite then why in 12 seasons of football, could he not win even ONE playoff game for the Lions in three tries? He was the #1 pick in the 2009 draft.

A lot of people think Dak could win a super bowl by going to a better team. This isn't the flex you think it is.

Are you saying elite offense or elite quarterback? That word is usually reserved for judgments regarding a quarterback...not an offense. Thomas and Steele gave up a combined 14 pressures (2 sacks) at the tackle positions alone. 22 pressures from the entire line combined. Lamb was out of the game. Detroit knew they had to pass. Red zone offense...middle of the pack. Around 58%. They led the NFL in 2022 at 71%. Running the football. Still a problem in Dallas. Schottenheimer is showing his inexperience in this area.

At the end of the day it was a nice three-game run. But the season ended at Arizona. Everything else has simply been hope and dreams.

I'm not moving anything. I asked you a question. Simple question. You are the one that's moving the goalposts bud. Dallas just beat the Eagles. They also beat the Chiefs, who have been PERENNIAL champions of their conference of late, even when they don't win the Superbowl. Seven straight title games. They are legit anytime Mahomes is at the helm.

Maybe the damn team is tired after playing three games in 18 days. Maybe both tackles suddenly forgot how to block. Maybe special teams decided to allow Detroit an avg start on their own 43 yard line ALL NIGHT. Turnovers...Lamb out...and a back end that's improving but it is not quite ready for prime time.

Did you really think that Dallas in its current condition would go 8-0 over its last eight games??? Did you really think that the defense was Superbowl caliber even after the trades???

Newsflash for ya...of the last 20 Superbowl winners...NONE OF THEM went 8-0 in the last eight regular season games. Only THREE managed to win seven of eight:

2016 Patriots...7-1
2019 Chiefs...7-1
2024 Eagles...7-1

Only the 2007 Patriots were perfect in their last 8 regular season games. But they lost the Superbowl that year.

If you think either one of them was great we live in two different realities and probably don't have anything to discuss at least on this topic.

I'd say that for Prescott Lamb and Aubrey they played well against the Lions so it's a good four game stretch to say Prescott can't play in big games he showed up and played he put his money where his mouth was three hours or whatever it was pregame when he said what they did last time they were in that building and he did it it's not his fault the offensive line was bad the defense was bad the special teams was bad the coaching was bad his own offensive players dropping passes that hit them in the hands No not high not outside not behind literally almost in the stomach and literally ruined prescott good showing in a game they needed to win,

he did show up.. Not sure how he can control being harassed all day in the pocket and having his own players just collapse around him and still put up nearly 400 yards and 30 points and had this team within three points with 10 minutes to play all the D had to do is not give up another 14 points afterwards..easy and quick fourteen points by the way no resistance whatsoever..
