If we are talking about Dak, it’s gonna be awhile before his name gets knocked out of the record books. One doesn’t become the franchise leader in passing yards easily or quickly, and that’s where he is.

He's there, because it isn't the same game anymore as when Aikman played. You think Dak would've became a franchise leader anywhere if he played in the 90's, where wideouts got brutally hit sometimes when you threw it over the middle? Would he had the opportunity to rack up those yards under a team that had Emmitt Smith as the running back that did power football?

So Cooper Rush is so good he can carry the 31st ranked defense to the playoffs, but yet he is not good enough to start on any of the 32 teams in the league???

That’s speculation and, of course, we will never know. You could be right.

We will never know. This is a league nowadays that is designed to give up bigger and more passing plays. QB’s are more protected.

that Linebacker is locked in on the guy about to curl up in front of him and is parallel to the TE, 5 yards away, and facing the opposite direction the TE is running. He has basically no idea that the TE is even breaking open behind him. TE at this point is running full speed on the slant/post

With a properly thrown ball up the seam or toward the post--there is absolutely zero chance that LB who is standing still in the middle of the field is going to be able to pivot, make up the ground between him and the TE, and intercept (or even break up) that pass.

Zero chance. Pick the best MLB in the history of football. Any name you want, in the history of the NFL, and put him in that spot right there standing still in the middle of the screen with a TE already running full speed 5 yards away behind your back.

If Dak rips that ball right now (in that still shot) to the proper location with the proper touch on it--there is zero chance that's anything but a walk in TD. Zero.

It's ok to admit #4 missed an opportunity. it doesn't make you a bad fan. You can still wear your "This girl loves Dak" t shirt with pride.

i would agree if he throws it more heading towards the endzone, it's probably a touchdown. Only problem was.... during the slight sliver of that TE's opening..... the linebacker was too close to him. Now if Dak had one more second, the tight end could've gone far enough downfield to where he could've gotten it into him no problem.

all QBs are taught to throw it as soon as they see something. He saw another open receiver and threw it. This is just a matter of whether Dak should've stood in the pocket for one more second.... you can debate if he should've, or should've just thrown it to the first open receiver he sees which ended up being the middle receiver (i think he was the one Dak ultimately thru it to). In my opinion, he should've waited one more second..... but you're making it seem like it's a clear and day thing.... but it's way more 50/50 than you think.

Why is it so surprising?
Dak did what Dak does in 2025; he beat up on weak teams and enjoyed the media showering him with praise.
But versus good teams, he came up short.
At least with Cooper Rush the offense kept the opposing offense on the bench, making the Cowboys defense better.
Point at Dak's stats all you want; he came up short again and made the Cowboys weaker overall, but he got his stats.
