I love Dak Prescott as my Quarterback

At least those guys get some blame for those paltry results

Dak is totally exempt in many people's eyes and therein lies the biggest dividing issue on this board
Theyhave actually openly SAID it. They are NOT going to critique ANYTHING Dak does because of Jerry and the Defense.

That's a free pass on everything. Then they argue with and insult people who do.

Insanity.

Dak is a good quarterback. But Dak is also an unreasonable allocation of cap dollars on a team that has the thinnest veneer of a defense. Unfortunately (IMO) the team is saddled with his contract for at least another season. I wish the best to the player and person who currently wears ‘4’ for Dallas, but I’d rather the team had a lesser player and contract at QB - AND a half dozen or so other serviceable-to-good players Dak’s cap impact could otherwise cover. I may be alone in that camp - but that was my position when the deal was done, now, and going forward.
Cowboys have had $25m in cap room this entire season and Jerry hasn’t spent a penny.

Dak could play for free and it wouldn’t mean we have “a half dozen or so other serviceable-to-good players”.

By the ways since you bring it up, how much do you think a “a half dozen or so other serviceable-to-good players” would cost us?

People who harp on the money never seem to accept that we don’t have a Dak contract problem. We have a front office cap management problem.

I’m convinced we have a bottom five front office in the NFL.

Most people loved Dak after the Chiefs. We lose 3 straight and everyone stops loving him? It's not his fault we gave up 44 points and 34 points to the Vikings and Lions.

If we had a defense, we'd be 6-1 in our last 7 games and we'll all be continuing to love Dak.
Not scoring for entire halfs is definitely on the defense!

.....so going forward......every time I see a missed tackle, a big hole for a RB call "Bill" to take it to the house, several guys being trucked downfield, LBs no where in sight or gaps, a DB's only tackle is a horse collar, and Jaxson Dart who's looked terrible the last 2 weeks suddenly slings for 250 yds and 2 TDs next week..........you're on to something.......shame on you Dak, you too Cee Dee, and the Front Office draft team.
You can think what you like.

Dak has shown that he's unable to win in the play offs with good teams in 2021 and 2022. That's enough evidence for me to move on rather than make him the highest paid player in NFL history and give him another 10 years.

The Chiefs couldn't get over the line with Alex Smith (very similar solid yet limited quarterback to Prescott), The Eagles moved on from Wentz whilst the Rams moved on from Goff. They all subsequently won Superbowls.

The Chiefs couldn't move forward with Mahomes (before injury)......now what? Let Mahomes go? Ravens moving from Lamar? Josh Allen.......we're waiting. I will think what I want. We don't agree and that's ok.

Carolina is a mediocre football team and they have a much better defense.
Dallas isn't mediocre?

You're the one comparing stats, not me. It would actually be more interesting to see hairstyle comparisons over meaningless stats for once.

We are absolutely mediocre.

I predicted six wins in the preseason poll.

I know people are thinking "This always comes after we beat the Commanders"

um not really because this year some of Dak's best games were against the Eagles and Packers..... 2 Top 10 defenses in both passing and scoring defense. And against the Chiefs, Dak was all Pro. And you can say the Chiefs were no good this year, but right before Mahomes' injury he was about to drive for at least a field goal, possibly a Touchdown to win the game - and the rest of their schedule was soft. If they beat the Broncos they might very well have been a 10 win team and got into the playoffs. So Mahomes' injury had a lot to do with the suppression of the Chiefs. This Dak plays bad against good teams thing needs to be retired if this year is proof of anything.

He's a Pro Bowl selection in 2 out of the last 3 years. Besides Jackson, Darnold, Stafford, and Allen - who else has been Pro Bowl selections in 2 out of their last 3 years? Dak is far from being done. I think he's gonna last longer than Jackson because running Quarterbacks have a shorter lifespan. He'll likely last longer than Burrow because of his excessive injuries. By 2030 you might still be hearing about Dak while some of his peers will have faded. So get used to it, Dak isn't going anywhere.... neither out of Dallas or out of the NFL. Dumbest take to think Dak ever looked like he was about to fade out of relevance, or ever threatened to be out of the league at any point of his career.

A lot of the hate for him was already building in the last 2 or 3 years of Romo... like from 2013 on. People were thinking 'Romo is nice, but he's more like Danny White. The next guy is gonna be Aikman." They had that fantasy pre-programmed for years, and when they learned that they weren't getting their next Aikman, their fantasy blew up in their face. They threw a hissy fit and built up anger towards the guy they think blocked them from obtaining a Mahomes caliber Quarterback. But fact is... Dak didn't block us from getting a Mahomes. The draft is a lottery ticket.... you get lucky you don't get lucky. For most of any team's franchise history.... you're not getting the best or one of the best QBs in the league. it's just fact. You just have to deal with that low likelihood. Also, i really don't care if we don't have the best QB in the league.

But with that said.... how far behind the best QB is he even? I think it's silly to put him out of the Top 10. Even Top 8 is probably low for him because who can honestly name many better names? You can name the clear exhibits, but after that is a matter of opinion. He easily can be argued as Top 5 or 6 if he has regularly appeared on Pro Bowl ballots for 2 out of the last 3 years. We're talking initial selections, not replacement selections. So hes not that far from being one of the best. But even if he isn't one of the best..... none of you date the hottest, or one of the hottest girls on the planet. Do you not love her all the same? I can love Dak even if he isn't the best.

You can crucify him for those 2 games against the Golden Gaters, but what about those other playoff games? Against Rodgers, it was a Quarterback dual - and those kinda games favors the guy who got the football last..... that was Rodgers. If anything, Garrett and his clock management and his electing to kick an early field goal not understanding that the game was not gonna be low scoring was more to blame than the Quarterback. Against the Rams, Dak was normal. No one's saying he was exceptional..... he was just normal. Normal is good enough against McVay at that time of the year, against one of his better teams. The defense was anything but normal. it was awful and gave up 300 yards rushing. Against the Packers, while Dak precipitated our demise with his picks.... the defense ultimately had the final say. They gave up an opening Touchdown drive, followed by a 95 yard Touchdown drive, and that would be right in the middle of 5 straight Touchdown drives surrendered to Jordan Love. It's a joke that a game can effectively be over after 3 failed offensive drives.....only the Cowboys can let such a thing happen...... the defense was definitely the much bigger issue that game. One of those first 3 failed drives was also a drop by Lamb on 3rd down.

So overall..... how many real opportunities has he had where he was given much of a normal chance non-obfuscated by the blunders of his defense or his coach? Just the 2 against the Golden Gaters. Against the Packers and Rams he had absolutely no chance with how awful the team played overall. And against Rodgers he had a chance but he just wasn't on the field when Rodgers hit that last sideline pass, nor was he on the field during the walk off field goal.

So in short .... he may never get us to the Super Bowl, or we even win one with him..... but i don't know about you guys.... I'm sure gonna well enjoy him trying.
Well I think fans would be delusional thinking that Troy Aikman would fix all our problems here apparently they didn't watch the 90s really close and see that it was a All Pro offensive line an All Pro run game with a historically great running back a great defense a great coaching staff great skill players all around 0 that's right they were all in how is this any different than what the way we judge Jalen hurts?

We have no idea how well Troy would have done if he ended up on another team kind of like Derek Carr There's some guys that have a lot of talent end up on the wrong teams I mean we almost seen it happen recently sam Darnold guys like Baker Mayfield and Geno Smith were on the wrong teams they almost got sent out of the league they get on better teams let's what happens matthew Staffords a perfect example this is who Tony Romo and Dak Prescott are they are definitely as talented as Matthew Stafford..

Did Matthew Stafford win anything with the Lions?NO

He went to an all in team led the league in interceptions threw two interceptions in the Super Bowl and still came out with a win because their defense was that good Their team was that good he's a really good player he's a great player like Prescott occasionally he has top 5 MVP like seasons But he still needs a good team around him or he's not going anywhere that goes for just about every quarterback out there we're trying to blame our quarterback I can promise you this and I'm going to say this once and if somebody argues with me I'm going to have to poo poo this idea

Troy Aikman the last 18 years with these teams would not have won a Super Bowl either he would not have carried his team on his bad back..

There is no way Tori Aikman would have survived this year the way Prescott's not even a mobile quarterback but the way he had to avoid lots and lots of pressure because his offensive line wasn't blocking and the fact that you have to score 30 points just to beat in a game with this current Cowboys team well I can promise you this there's plenty of proof that Troy Aikman would not have changed our history..

He was frankly part of a great team one of the greatest teams ever assembled They will always talk about the 90s Dallas Cowboys in their prime where top five all time in championship teams This is the word team keeps popping up troy Aikman did not carry the Cowboys to anything he was just along for the ride i'm not saying he wasn't good but that first couple years it was very sketchy with him getting beat up But they kept building they kept building and you know what They got championships just like Matthew Stafford did just like Matthew Stafford waited he got his Trophy with a team that was assembled to do such a thing.

Anybody who thinks Troy would have saved this team the last nine years with these types of defenses and these shaky offensive lines and bad coaching let's just say that one more time bad coaching right now it's on the defensive side so we're talking about the special teams well last time I remember the 90s Dallas Cowboys in the 70s Roger Staubach Cowboys didn't have these problems not as big as they are now They never asked our quarterback to carry the team and be perfect nor were they they made mistakes in the playoffs I watched....

So if that's your premise for why you wrote this article of yours, I agree they're waiting on a Troy IGNA but even if another Troy Aikman had come along for the Dallas Cowboys he would not have saved this team the last eighteen years there's just no way he could do it on his own no different than Dak or Romo...

Anybody sits here and tries to claim Troy was somehow elite elite of the elite that he could have carried a team without a good defense without a good run game with a shaky offensive line you guys are all smoking the good stuff..

Troy Made a living with sub 200 yard games and very little tds to INt ratio.. You all know that these offenses ran through the offensive lines and two players named Emmett Smith And Tony Dorsett along with some great defenses great coaching Staffs they were just part of a great team show me all these great teams that we've had with Romo or Prescott not good not above average great i'm talking about top to bottom great.....

I'm not waiting for an answer it's rhetorical they never have put together that good a team that could do something in the playoffs they've had some great regular season players but when it came to crunch time these players shrunk all of them shrunk..

The Chiefs couldn't move forward with Mahomes (before injury)......now what? Let Mahomes go? Ravens moving from Lamar? Josh Allen.......we're waiting. I will think what I want. We don't agree and that's ok.
Is that the Patrick Mahomes with 3 rings? Was he throwing the ball to two WR1s this season? Lamar has struggled in the play offs and maybe the Ravens will decide to move on from him. Josh Allen has been excellent in the play offs. He carries the team but often multiple Superbowl champions and future Hall of Famers Mahomes and Reid have shredded their defense to such an extent that not even he could save them. The last loss to the Chiefs is a great example of an elite quarterback carrying the offense in the first half to keep the team in the game. They ultimately lost narrowly but given how the defense did nothing in the first half it was a performance that it's expected from an elite quarterback paid the big bucks. Something Dak has been unable to do when the Cowboys defense was gashed open against the Packers he actually helped them out by handing the Pack 7 points and pretty much another 7 points before half time!

I agree we will never agree. You love a quarterback with a 2-5 play off record over 10 years.

You deserve Dak as your QB….

2 playoff wins in 10 years
Herbert has zero playoff wins, but yall keep telling me he's a better quarterback.

Trent Dilfer has a Superbowl win, but Josh Allen, Joe Burrows, Lamar Jackson and a host of other quarterbacks have zero.

Whats your point?

It takes a special kind of idiot to post stats and ignore the intangibles.
This group of Cowboys KNOW that no matter how well they play, Dak will choke in pressure situations.
This team was let down when Jerry gave Dak that huge contract after he blew the playoff game vs the Packers just a few months before.
They knew that was what they could look forward to because he has choked every time the pressure is on.
Dak made you quit being a Dallas Cowboys fan. That's how much ownership he has over you. You belong to Dak and he doesn't even know you.
:lmao2::lmao2::lmao2:

YOUR intangibles are bottom of the barrel.

A lonely old man who no longer has a favorite football team HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

No Dak does deserve criticism but not all of the criticism and not majority. When defense is as bad as it is and expectations are score at least 30 to have a chance then that's tough for any offense.

This defense already given up 477 points which is 30 points per game.

In the meantime there are teams that score 10 or 16 points and win games. Sometimes defense has to step up and win a game. KC scored 30 points once last year and went 15-2.

Daknhas to be better at times. Yes yes yes. But this defense is pathetic when every QB we play has best game of the season against them.

Dak does deserve the blame he actually earns.

But you know what true insanity is? When people attach playoff losses to Dak solely.... but give other quarterbacks that supposed to be better than him, excuses as to their identical or worse playoff records.

Thats pure insanity.

What's with this "love Dak" crap. How can you love someone you don't even know? Man, the crush you have for him is bizarre as hell.

Because everything else is emotion.

Carolina is a mediocre football team and they have a much better defense.

What else would you like to compare? Hairstyles?
If "everything else is emotion"..and only stats matter...why even watch the game. Your eyes tell you nothing?
