RELEASED Cowboys have released cornerback Trevon Diggs

Anyone cut from the Cowboys organization is extremely happy. Now they can try to get on a REAL team with chances to do something other than being in the news for nonsense, and a part of the Jerry clown show for the upcoming years. So cheers to Micah, Diggs and the countless others that escaped.
This is not right.

Look at Diggs $$$ he was going to get

2026: $15.5M (non-gtd)2027: $20.5M (non-gtd)2028: $21M (non-gtd)

Now he has to go get a cheap 1-2 year prove it deal

Don’t act like he wasn’t apart of the circus. He was Barnum or Bailey. But he was the bearded lady

Most people thought it was time to let Dware go. 75% of this board spent the majority of JLs time in Dallas trashing him.

I dont like how Parsons went down, but we did well enough. QW is a cornerstone and we still have an extra 1.

Mingo I'll never understand and we can talk about Lance as well.

To be fair though you also need to mention Pickens and signing Javonte.
Not a defender of this FO at all either.
I could have written this post word-for-word. It is how I see it.

The way Jerry does football business is how he does business in real life, EXCEPT, football isn't real life. In football, star players have all the power. As soon as Diggs saw the way Micah was treated, he was done with Dallas. So if you're under contract, which he'll still be although he's cut, he just facilitated his release.

As a child, you act out until you get what you want since you know the law protects you. But Jerry has NO DIRECTION. He drafts this guy, then this guy becomes a superstar, and oops, I guess I'll cut him now. I can't hire a REAL coach, so let me try hiring a coach who was associated with a mediocre 'ish, popular name from the past in Marty Schottenheimer's son. And I actually kinda like "Schotty", but this is how Jerry thinks.

Since Dak kisses butt so good and puts up "great" FAKE numbers, and although he's limited, and can't take us far in the playoffs, his numbers keep butts in the seats,so... let me sign him to 60 million so that I can't sign any of the superstars I actually drafted. Instead of paying Ware, let me trade him. Instead of paying "insert any name here" let me cut that guy. Instead of hiring the BEST coaches, let me assimilate coaches in my puny brain that I think fits, because of course, these coaches will kiss my butt.

He will do ANYTHING, and I mean anything other than admit he's a bum GM. And because he won't admit that one thing, that ONE THING, he's putting millions of us in peril, and now going on 31 years. Just admit you're a loser GM, hire the best one with that 15 billion you have, and let us fans have some peace for once in our stinking lives.
He has no idea he is known for worst signing in NFL history and worse trade in NFL history. And he will also gamble with the picks we have thinking he gotta steal with such and such.....

Something else clearly happened behind the scenes for this to occur now.

I mean we all knew Diggs was on his way out but the timing is what is surprising.
There are some skeletons in the Cowboys closet that are bound to be opened

Everybody should have known it was coming.

They wouldn't play him because he defied Jerry Jones. Then he tried to force the issue by going to the media.

On the football side of it.....so sad.

It's just sad to contemplate what this defense could have accomplished with two All-Pro CBs in Bland and Diggs with OverShown and Parsons running around and the young group of DEs, all 2nd round draft picks taking advantage of offenses that were focused on Parsons.

It's almost all gone now.

Kneeland has passed. Williams is close to a bust. Overshown has played less than half of the games, Bland and Diggs have been impaired, either by injuries or too much satisfaction in the size of their contracts depending on opinion.

There is nothing good about this. It's not "good riddance". It is nothing more than an admission of failure on the part of team management to match the potential of what they had to the realization of success deep in the playoffs.

Part of this can be attributed to unfortunate circumstances. However, over the past 30 years, the consistent failure forces us to recognize the one constant during these three decades....and it wasn't Trevon Diggs.

Diggs is giving up almost a perfect passer rating, when targeted. I highly doubt any contender picks him up for this post season. He's simply not good right now.
He had zero interceptions and zero passes defended

This afternoon, Mark Schlereth was on the radio and he decribed Diggs as “giving up touchdowns like it’s his job”

Sounds pretty accurate.

The entire secondary is junk but at least some of them play hard

Diggs didn’t even bother to ask Schottenheimer until the game was over.

Was denied and then just skipped out.

Schlereth said “teams have to make choices and sometimes those choices cost money, but Diggs made it easy for them.

Two things can be true at the same time. We have not had the success we could have over the last 30 years, and Diggs 100% brought this on himself. He’s had chance after chance to “play ball”, and he has made one dumb decision after another.

Not being on the plane home was the straw that broke the camel’s back. If you ask and are told no, the answer is NO. Don’t like it? Book a flight from the airport the second you land, but what you do NOT do is show up your HC by being petulant. If he didn’t know that would get him cut, he’s even more stupid than I thought.

Like I said…ten-cent head. Mama always said stupid is as stupid does.

I'm waiting to see who signs him so I can cross them off as a super bowl winner. Unless he won't ever see the field. If he's on the field you get no super bowl

Is this supposed to mean that he wanted to spend Christmas with his family, asked after the game was over, and was denied?

The FO was bound to let him go no matter what. Obviously, other moves are about to be taken.

I have never been a big Diggs fan, he got torched to often for me. He has one good year, got his money and almost disappeared. Timing is odd and would have liked to see if they could get something for him but oh well.
