Using next years pick to get Q Williams wasn’t a mistake. The mistake was letting the Jets pick which 1st round pick they want AFTER next season. He should have made the Jets pick whichever one they wanted now and maybe we would have ended up with the better of the 2 picks. Now we are stuck with the later pick next year. And also doesn’t give us the flexibility to trade any of those picks until after next season and we know which pick is ours.

The difference between picking 12 vs 18 is huge. Bain, Downs, Bailey, Love, Fano and Woods probably won't be around at 18. Some of those will not be there at 12, but I'm guessing at least 2-3 will. Trade down capital from 12 to 18 =300 points. That's the value of a late 2nd rounder.
