John Harbaugh and Giants are working to finalize agreement to make him HC

The fact that Harbaugh wants to bring Monken with him as OC makes me not worried about this hire at all. Keep doing things the “old school” way John, it’s worked great recently

Dallas becomes the division doormat. It feels like Campo era 2.0. This fan base is about to be dragged deeper.

I'm not impressed by Harbaugh. A "CEO" style head coach who was given loaded roster after loaded roster, helmed by a 2x MVP quarterback, and never did anything with it.

The Ravens have had 10+ wins in 6 of their last 8 seasons, turned that into 6 playoff trips, and only appeared in one AFC Championship game. That's a nearly Cowboys level of playoff futility.

This could be an Andy Reid situation, where a new situation allows him to get over the hump. But to me it looks closer to a Pete Carroll situation, where the old dog just doesn't have any new tricks.

As far as the Giants, they gave Daboll more than enough chances to show that he wasn't the answer, so a change was due. But I'm not convinced that Harbaugh is their savior either. And for the Ravens, some kind of change was definitely due.
I’m sure the NY Giants are kicking themselves for not going after Schottenheimer a couple years back when they had the chance. Harbaugh has apparently “impressed”the Giants even if he doesn’t reach Cowboys fans’ standards.

Like it or not Harbaugh makes the giants a legit contender. They have talent and also a top 5 pick. Of course it all depends on dart, but if he continues to grow they are going to be good.

That leaves us potentially 3-4 in the division. We'll go 8-9 again or something and Jerry will sell us on some other BS. While other teams are out here making moves, were stuck because Jerry won't go for the big hire.

I don't hate Schotty, but in the NFL coaching matters more than any other sport. And i'm afraid because Jerry wants to win his way were going to be stuck in the endless rut.

Just think about it, the giants and eagles won 2 super bowls each since we have been to one. Have both rebuilt now twice.... and the commanders could be right there as well. All while we have been stuck in mediocrity.

Dudes the AFCs version of Jason Garrett. When was the last time anyone actually feared the Ravens? I dont see why an older and outdated head coach is gonna change a culture at 64 years old.

If Jerry would’ve made this move, people here would’ve said he’s a washed up coach who couldn’t even win with the MVP as his QB.
This is true. Jerry would have been criticized for this move.

I think this is a very solid move by the Giants. But I’m not sure that Harbaugh is the coach that many believe he is. There was a reason that he became available this offseason.

lol and we have Schotty. Gawd we suck.
Many here expected Shotty to flail and fail. Some even want that.

I am and was willing to at least give the guy a chance before writing him off. I think Schotty is a bit better than I expected him to be. His DC absolutely sucked though.

I don’t think we have enough data points on Schotty to know whether he will fail or succeed but over time we will acquire further evidence on that.

He may end up being the best coach we have had since Jimmy, and he seems to be able to coexist with JJ and Co. That’s a lot to ask of a coach, but Schotty seems to be doing a good job of walking that tight rope.

If we continue to suck McClay may be the next one to be the fall guy, instead of Schotty.

This is a great move for the Giants and a bad one for us. They’re going to be a formidable team. I know some homers here are trying to spin it differently, but his Ravens teams were always competitive and consistently in the mix. The Giants are about to become a real thorn in our side.

It's a quality hire. Now, of course, we will have people here that will crap all over Harbaugh just because he's now the Giants coach, but the Giants upgraded at the HC spot. They went all in on trying to get Freeman from ND so this isn't a bad "2nd" choice (who may have been the first choice if he had been available weeks ago).

Daboll fired during the season, Giants aggressively go after the top HC candidate available. Quinn, been to the Super Bowl as a HC and the NFCCG a season ago and Sirianni’s been to two Super Bowls winning one a year ago, their both sitting on seats that are getting “very warm”. The Dallas Cowboys? “We’re good at head coach.”

Ehhhh, if Jerry did this, I would applaud him.

That being said, he would never do it which is the problem. Harbaugh wouldn't tolerate the kind of micromanaging Jerry and his idiot son need.

Steel sharpens steel. The Cowboys need to stop playing cupcakes in the division and actually get better if they want to be successful in the postseason

Jason Garrett probably fumbled at least one SB with his robotic learn on the job schtick. I think Schotty isn’t in the same tier with Garrett. Schotty is above that. How much above Garrett’s tier remains to be seen.

I think Harbaugh will drag the Giants out of the abyss, but he may drag them all the way up to mediocre. This hire doesn’t make the Giants contenders. It makes the Giants no longer a doormat.

I think we will see an immediate improvement in the Giants and probably make the playoffs, but not be relevant as a serious SB contender. After a few years you will see the Giants tail off toward mediocrity again as they pick mid in each round.
