Blaming Jerry is the lazy way out

What? Why can't we criticze anybody but Jerry? I don;t get it but....it's cool. You think the players are without any fault at all. It;s cool. Wrong...but cool.
Who says we can't criticize players? We do so all the time. But the thing is that players that make mistakes here often thrive with clubs that don't have our Country Club mentality in the locker room and in practice. Ultimately, Jerry is the root cause for our problems. Bad coaching, players not living up to their full potentials because of lack of culture and leadership, that all comes back on Jerry, the root cause. You want to criticize a player, go ahead and start a thread at the right time, and I am sure you get no flack as long as it is not the quarterback.

Right. I already said "buck stops HERE". jerry hires and pays people. His job to hire and hold people accountable...right? Right.

But I think it's dumb (not people...the idea) to say everybody else is so cool and doing their jobs 100%. Absolved.

How about somebody rebel? Light a fire? Excel? Be seen YELLING (ala Aikman).

If you (they) BUY into the "culture"...then they are EVERY bit as much to blame.
If the players are not doing their job, that means either Jerry got the wrong players or the wrong coach.

Business structure, dude.

Okay. Fine. All I am doing is agreeing with OP.

Yes...we know Jerry is to blame. We get it. How much do we have to talk about it...literally ad nauseum? It's lazy and everyone already knows and agrees....what is there to talk about?

I will start threads and comment in threads as I wish...no need for your advice on it. Including QB.

Okay...let's just shut down the forum then. Nothing to talk about but blame Jerry.

Players missing blocks, missing tackles, dropping passes....none of it matters at all. Jerry did it.

It doesn't get talked about that much, IMO. At the end of another season, would be an appropriate time. The problem with the OP is that it says it is lazy to blame the root cause. We've seen too many of our former players find success elsewhere and even get rings. They too have pointed at the country club culture around here. Lay blame when it is appropriate, if a Wideout drops a crucial ball that cost us the game, then post it on gameday. At the end of the season, It's time for Jerry to get the credit a GM deserves.

 Is that you-Jerry??? Jerry is the owner. He's the gm. Jerry has been in control all 30 years of this mess. Jerry answers to no one!! Jerry is the problem. Keep your head in the sand as the 30-year-old storm continues to blow...

Oh I see. We have to post when and where YOU say.

We'll just have to disagree. I firmly believe "end of season"...is the best time to evaluate...EVERYONE. If Jerry was a real GM he would too.

I do have a hard time not watching a game. I talk big, but I really haven't stopped watching, which is really the only way to affect change.

It is not the only way. It is the only way some feel would be effective.

Don't put words into my mouth. I'm just pointing out that using discretion makes people look less dumb to others. The premise of the OP is that blaming Jerry is lazy, which in itself is telling people not to blame Jerry and blame others. Most of the board was just vocal that Jerry is the root cause. In fact, it could be called lazy that saying that blaming Jerry is lazy, instead of starting a thread, adding enough substance to it, about a player or coach you feel is to blame. I mean, you want to evaluate someone else, why haven't you done so?

He did. Jerry loves to acquire players not paying any attention to what makes a player successful.

You have a strange take, I gotta admit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no other owner is the gm.
rams and patriots owners hired gm's.
coaches and players change.
but over that 30yr span the results haven't.
the one constant here.
the owner is the gm.
ipso-fatso...solved.
Sir,

I resent that remark.

Sincerely,

Mike Brown, Owner/GM
Cincinnati Bengals, NFL

Blaming anyone other than the owner after 30+ years of this is legitimately idiotic.
