Another NFL Season in the Books

Already think we are screwed for 2026 too......Going to the 3-4 is a huge mistake.

First of all.....We don't have 90% of the personnel to run that defense. It's gonna take a complete 2 seasons to transition to that defense....

We don't have that big of a window to try and make these huge sweeping changes. By the time they get the defense right....the offense is gonna need retooling....or they are gonna figure out....the 3-4 is a horrible scheme to begin with that can be manipulated into horrible mismatches.

Then what???? Looks to me this franchise is setting itself up for failure for the next 5 years. Seems pretty clear to me. But hey....this is what this administration does....spins it's wheels looking for the next clickbait thing.

I think the 3-4 actually suits us better. Frankly, I think we should have made the switch a while ago .I think Williams, Clark, and Osa would be good Dline in a 3-4. I think your outside LBers would be Sam Williams or a draft pick (I think Sam Williams would be better in a 3-4 configuration) and Overshown. I think your MLBs would be a draft pick/FA like Nakobe Dean and Shemar James. And I think we are in a position where we should get some good FAs that can help there too.

Can we get a cake at 40?

Going to take at least 2 off-seasons imo. That's if Jerry uses fa to upgrade the defense.

To get to a Super Bowl, I agree. But I think we can at least get to a division round appearance if we build this team up correctly this season. I think that's a reasonable ceiling if they do this right.

I love how he slobbers all over Maye while Maye averages like 80 whole yards a playoff game. Hahaha.
Yeah, can't wait to see my NE fan friend. He has talked so much crap about NE and Maye since mid way through the season.
And Saturday night. He may not show up for a while.
I won't give him too hard of a time though, if at all. I will mention it, but not rub it in.

When your O line collapses no QB is going to win
Burrows and Mahomes proved that

. Fortunately for us, the Pats did not go 2 up on us.
But New England did set a record Apparently, they have the most Super Bowl losses by any franchise ever and I know it's a weird one right it means you have to get there pretty often to lose that many but hey it's a consolation..:muttley:

I didn't watch the game and I'm proud of it I didn't watch any commercials or even the halftime show this time I completely didn't care..

I did hear it wasn't even as close as the final score that Drake may basically choked three turnovers just like he's been doing most of the playoffs playing weak teams most of the year very overrated right and that we say stat padding, they put up all those yards and points in the 4th quarter only, that literally before that they were stopped dead in their tracks by what might be better than the Legion of Boom Seattle Seahawks defense,

that defense is impressive, the run game was impressive, and Sam Darnold was just along for the ride ,I mean kudos to him, but that's a Trent Dilfer moment...

Not trying to take anything away from him but players like Brad Johnson they won Super Bowls with teams like that too, I mean we can go over all this you do with a team like that all you need to do from the quarterback position is not screw it up/

And I heard the MVP was the running back when does that ever happened for the last two decades of Cowboys quarterbacks have had a run game like that a defense like that playing in a trenches like that, I don't know do I need to add in coaching Staffs like that ,

I mean that that was set up for success...

I think we have the offense and kicker. What we have lacked is a consistent defence. I think the new DC puts us in a better position to fix that.

Yes but if you want build that defense quicker stronger better and maybe get a better left tackle They're gonna be sacrifices that need to be made And I'm gonna go back to they need to probably trade George Pickens because I don't think Seattle has two receivers quite at that level or quarterback exactly at that level and they had no problems coasting in this game It was slow to start on offense but with a and a better offensive line and run game You don't need two receivers like we have...

Everyone wants to keep looking through the George Pickens looking glasses if Prescott and Lamb can't do what Sam Darnold and JSN did,

Should be the goal even though the offense looked great Take a first rounder or more and save all that money and fix the other weaknesses which is at tackle on offense further make the run game stronger and for sure rebuild the damn defense but sometimes you need resources and if you look at this year's draft we have no second or third round picks and we're already against the salary cap I think that they could get there by doing what Seattle did and I didn't want Seattle close but I know one thing they did is the way they traded away some of their better receivers one of them was Metcalf..

Turned around and used those draft picks and built the rest of their team better Notably I believe they used the draft picks if I read the story right to move up in the draft and get that safety I believe one of the top defenders in the league right now because they rebuilt their offense to go around the run game and have one dynamic receiver and we have that in CD Lamb, we did this in 2023 people who on these threads that say the Cowboys have to sign George Pickens there's no way they can let him go this offense is somehow going to struggle without him since when yes he's a bonus He's extra the offense probably is a little better with him..

But you can do what Seattle did but the only way to get there is to trade George Pickens he is our only trade asset..

They saw that they a lot of really good receivers but they saw weaknesses elsewhere and they knew JSN was coming up so they built differently they moved on from their quarterback a bunch of receivers and use the resources on defense they were already a solid defense but Mcdonald's vision needed even more key players the only way you're gonna do that is do exactly what they did it won't be the same right away but it'll be a big improvement and I'm not that worried about losing George Pickens getting a receiver in the draft letting the receivers we have on this team now compete for WR2..

Even a losing team they had Stefan Diggs that's all you need if they would have some kind of run game a little bit better offensive line maybe they would have fared better but that defense they were able to put resources in the defense because they didn't sit and have a fan base say we need two 35 million dollar receivers...

To those teams sat at home and watched with..

Yeah, I was telling my daughter yesterday that I almost feel sorry for NE. She replied, "almost?"

Well, I think it depends on how we handle Pickens. Honestly, if Pickens plays on the tag for a year, that's not the worst thing for us. It sounds like they are going to tag him. As for Tackle, I think the right move, since we are going to lose Steele, is to probably move Guyton to RT and probably sign a good LT. I think Guyton was more of a RT in college, and I think he fits that better. I think Nate Thomas was good, but I think signing a LT would be good. Then I think we gotta take care of Aubrey and Williams.

After that, all remaining draft picks and cap space should go to fixing our defence.
