It always amazes me no other texas billionaires jumped on the chance to buy the cowboys and left it to an out of state jerry jones to buy it this quickly.

Bum favored jerry , as he was the low bid , but was going to fire landry and bum wanted that.
Bum wasnt too smart, only about 5 years later Wash sold for 500 million.
And for the cowboys, 140 mil was way too low even for 89.

Don't think it's ego as much as it was his life. Most of the great ones stay too long. Popovich was just forced out with a stroke. Belichick was forced out and unable to rebuild the team. I bet they'll have to kick Andy Reid out too. it's these guys lives and all they know.

agree , even jimmy was not doing well in his last stint with Miami and had a miserable ending playoff loss by like 40 points. Mike shanahan was fired by the broncos after overstaying. Shula was booted basically for jimmy LOL .
