Exactly, but many here are slow to see it , or believe it.
He has even had an effect on jones boys ,and they let him hire all of his staff, and now ,hire the DC he wanted,
and hire all the def staff with CP.
No Jones boys at the PC , which made it totally different, an someone else mentioned this but you could hear
the people and what they asked ! I wonder if that was shotty too?

For long time I have wondered why they didnt make it easy for us to hear the questions, and many times see the person asking. It was very well done in this PC.
 
Putting the jokes aside, I actually get why people are buying into Schotty right now. He feels like the kind of coach this team needs in this moment. He genuinely seems to like Jerry, and more importantly, he looked legitimately excited that Jerry was involved in the process. Most fans can’t stand Jerry — I’m included — but Schotty approaches it differently. He doesn’t hedge or distance himself. He backs him without hesitation, almost like a son standing up for his dad.

That willingness to defend the owner and the organization says a lot about who Schotty is. It shows loyalty, confidence, and a clear understanding of where he stands. Whether fans like it or not, that kind of buy-in matters if you’re trying to reset a locker room and stabilize a culture.

Yes, Jerry and Stephen weren’t there. But Schotty shut that down immediately. He made it clear to the media that Jerry is still heavily involved and that their absence wasn’t an issue at all. He didn’t dodge the question or feed into the narrative. He basically said, “This isn’t a story — stop trying to make it one.”

You don’t have to love Jerry to see what’s happening here. Schotty isn’t fighting the structure or playing politics. He’s embracing it, owning it, and projecting unity. Right now, that might be exactly what this team needs.

Those are really good points. Especially with neither Big or Little there. Those attention hogs won't miss a photo opportunity or a chance to be heard.

It’s clear that this is a Schotty pick, but he’s still giving Jerry and Stephen credit.

The meaningful change will never be the coaching staff with this team.

The only meaningful change is with the role the ownership group takes on.

If we see less of them in the media, press conferences, locker room and sidelines then we might have something here.

There will always be another Schottenheimer talking up about how he is going to make positive changes to the team, but there is Jerry.

When he changes then the organization will see true change.
 
I find it refreshing to see that Jerry and son were not present and hamming it up at the press conference. Even though Schotty confirmed they were involved in the hiring process, seems like a step in the right direction. Time will tell.

Schotty was groveling and throwing his units under the bus on to Jerry and Stephen right in front of everybody on Hard Knocks after the 2nd to last loss. Not a good luck IMO. I wouldnt have wanted to play for him and put my body totally on the line, if he did that stuff in front of me--personally. The man literally singled out special teams and the FGs.

Nah that aint it. If he was having a private meeting with them? Fine. But open in the locker room after a loss? Nah. Espcialy when Aubrey has done a lot for winning on the team? Nope.

What he should have said in THAT open locker room scenario is, "we have a lot of things to work on and get better at as a team. And it starts and ends with ME. I am going to get together with the guys. And we are going to attack it and get better."

Not

"Special teams wasnt enough today and cost us some opportunities that lost us the game." To paraphrase what he said when he singled out Special teams.

I get that some people are desperate for change and progress after 30 years of failure. But its the same delusion. Schotty has done absolutely nothing so far as a head coach. The team went 7 -9 - 1. Maybe wait to see if and how he and the team improve before crowning him as a saviour?
