Might give us a clue how the Cowboys will be approaching FA and the draft.

@nickeatman with a little insight on Shan & RJ about a #Cowboys player who could have a bigger role in Christian Parker’s defense:

“…You wonder about the versatility of some of these players. The name that I’ve been told twice in the building was Markquese Bell is a guy that I think they have some vision for…”

Eatman said that “tweeners” might be more important in a defense like this, which asks some players to play in multiple spots.

Remember—Dallas gave Bell a three-year deal last offseason.

Bell’s second half

60 is considered average.

No no no.

Move on from everyone on this defense outside of Eze, Osa, Williams, Clark, Overshown.

He is not good. Too small to play linebacker and too slow to play safety
Osa is trash!!!!!!! Clark is a JAG and EZE is well overrated, a Osa of DEs. I agree with the Bell observations.

I think they need to move him back into the nickel/dime linebacker role they had him in under Quinn. Unfortunately, Quinn made him a full-time linebacker when we lost LVE and Bell wasn't up to that challenge, but he showed ability when given that underneath role where he could be used as a run defender and underneath cover man.

I agree. I think there’s something there with him.

Respectfully Quinn got some good play out of him.
Exactly....here are his stats
Call it whatever but he was a consistent and reliable contributor in 2023. Remember Love comments to Parsons after the GB embarrassment.....we had a safety playing LBer. Since 2023 it's like Zimm couldn't find a role for him and Eberflus didn't care. I def think he can help .....the closer he plays to the LOS the better.

Ran a 4.41 at the combine which was the fastest time of any safety in 2022.
There's combine speed and game speed. Bell doesn't play like a 4.4 guy, hell, Dez who ran a 4.52 at the combine played a lot faster than Bell. My thought is he's a guy that's better closer to the line of scrimmage and running downhill, similar to Donovan Wilson. Just not fast enough in space.
