The Fan on FA Sam Williams future as a Cowboy

I understand we have a lot of holes on the defense and he played better the last third or so of the season but even if you're paying him for that, it shouldn't be much above the vet minimum with no signing bonus. Need to be able to cut bait without penalty if you're bringing him back. He doesn't like it, maybe he can find a place on someone's bench.

I am ok bringing him back on a 2 year deal, maybe $5 million total. Is that reasonable compared to 3 years at 9 million?
He has some tools and potential, but needs to get more disciplined to rid himself of knucklehead plays.
Can Parker be able to do that.

I will be fine if they move on as well.

I have never understood the philosophy of giving a “project” player who needs “time to develop” four full years to develop….then after they do not develop, say, “let’s re-sign this guy”.

To me this is exactly the kind of thinking that has given us the last 30 years.

I’d like to keep him. He was frustrating to watch at times with the dumbness, and the pre-planned victory party for GB was mind blowingly stupid, but he has talent and could potentially thrive in this new scheme.

Not his biggest fan, but I hope they can retain him.

Wait.... I was told by a significant percentage of the people in here, for 2 years in a row, that he was going to be a double digit sack guy, and that I was being a hater for saying I don't think he has the mentality nor football ability to be a good player.

And now you're all just lime "Cut him like a slab of meat"???

What the heck?

Jerry and spawn have battered a large portion of the fan base into Stockholm cyndrome.

Our front office needs a serious injection of football acumen, because they have precious little.

Not only do they re-sign him, they make it a deal to sign him for big money. Then they complain about the cap preventing them from signing top free agents. I cannot understand this philosophy either.
