Cowboys have not had conversations with the agent for Clowney

Tampa Bay will be good this year
In all seriousness, this is what is so perplexing about this front office.

How do you have extensive talks with Williams camp but then reach out to no one else? And this is a pattern, where we found out at times, they would go dark on the reps for guys like Lamb and Parsons.

Just when I have a bit of hope they are seeing the light, they go back to perplexing me.

The lower tier guys seem to get their deals with no issues look at jaylon Smith Terrance Steele kind of players, you didn't hear much about it, and out of nowhere BOOM they have a deal

I’ve heard about enough of how a player “doesn’t fit the scheme,” then a year or two later they change the scheme.

I suppose it’s one thing when it’s a first round pick, who would likely outlast the DC anyway, but if a guy like Clowney is willing to sign for like 2/19, how do you not find a place for him?

Come on folks - do you really believe anything JJ or Enos says this time of the year? I'm pretty sure every player's agent is hammering the front office to get a deal while there is money left before its all spent.

I don't think there is a relation though. Reports where they Cowboys were having internal discussions on Clowney’s fit in Parkers scheme. My guess is they decided he doesnt

I mean I hope EZ can take a second year leap as much as the next fan but I think reliable, consistent edge pressure with sacks is a pretty important issue to get solved up front.
Clowney was the best they had honestly.

I'd prefer Clowney re-signing to a reasonable deal and working him in tbh.

I'm actually ok with this and am on the side of Dumb and Dumber.

Clowney signed late in the season for a reason. He's a vet and definitely isn't looking for having to do OTAs, Mandatory Minis, and Training Camp. He just wants to play and pick where he plays at the price that works for him.

He will be on the market. If not, ok. He is a good pro. Good vet. Good depth. But, no one in the League will or should break the bank for his services.

Edit...Clowney signed after week 1 for a reason
