Are the three 20+ million a year DTs all going to be on the field at the same time?

They invested a TON to FINALLY get DT right. Does this scheme work in accordance with that?

Wouldn’t be the first time they invested serious capital in one position to fit a scheme only to change it a season later.

I think good DTs can play in any scheme.

Dallas has met with a few more DTs at the combine - several of them being first round prospects.

I'm wondering if Osa/Clark are considered tradable assets. I'd like to get Osa off the books - I like him, but his contract is too big for the impact he provides.
 
If anyone wants a look at Liufau playing a similar role just go watch the week 7 film against Washington. I believe all of his snaps that game came as a 3-4 edge. I just watched....didn't look too pretty.

The vibes I am getting is Clark's return is in jeopardy. No way we can bring him w/o a restructure. My guess is they are hearing what they wanna hear from his agent. Remember, Stephen just said they need help from that room.
 
Someone has to play OLB in the scheme.

I’m good with Eze giving it a shot.

I’ll be really surprised if Liufau is able to step it up and perform. He was bad at what he was doing. I expect he will continue to struggle.

It has to work, move Osa to the 3-4 DE spot that's the only way I see them all playing in the 3-4 together i'm assuming. Is Williams going to play the other DE spot? I hear they're calling Clark the NT.

Will Clark even be here?????? If not, I hope they find a big plugger, and not some guy they call a NT that's 305lbs!!!

Elaboarte??? I like the kids toughness etc, but as someone stated about him he just runs around trying to blast people and all you see is HAIR in the air!!! Make the tackle, diagnose the play and that's it!

Agree. They signed Osi because they had no idea they would trade Parsons, which would get them Clark and the ammo to deal for Q.

Usually the dead money hit is massive early on, even in a trade, but yeah it would seem as if it’s not the best allocation of resources, even though I think the DL is wise to invest heavily in. I’m just not sure on how it’ll all fit together and it’s tough to give this FO the benefit of the doubt.

How many times have we heard that we ‘don’t have the personnel’ to run the scheme the DC wants, then they spend 1-3 years acquiring those type of players, only to change DCs again?

Osa is not realistically tradeable because his extension is only a year old,

He would be $32m in a dead money cap hit this season.

Clark can be cut or traded with zero cap impact

I’m concerned as well. I have confidence in Parker, but we don’t how much he sold what he could do with the current personnel in order to get the job.

Meanwhile, I’m wondering if you’ll consider pretending as if they charge per question mark around here. :D

He will be an undersized and slow OLB. Nothing about him suggests he can do it. I think Parker is giving him a chance, but most likely he is a cut candidate.

Osa is way overpaid for the amount of production he’s delivered. His contract is absurd, and the Cowboys’ front office was foolish to agree to it.
 
EZ is a decent fit at rush 'backer. He's not the speed demon you usually want for the role, but he's very nimble, so I like him playing in open space.

Liufau, OTOH, is just unacceptable. He's not a guy you want edge rushing even in a rotational role. We will need to have someone else by Week 1, because handing Liufau 200 pass rush snaps would truly be a waste.

Agreed. I think he is closer to being cut than he is the starting lineup. He's just not an NFL talent. Good motor and someone I think everyone wanted to root for, but its clear that he's just not quite talented enough
