Signing him will be expensive but I'm sure there's a way we since he's a FA we can lower his cap hit for the first year. On the other hand it WON'T cost us any draft picks, which we can use to add more pieces to this Cowboys 2026 puzzle. Yes he's a bit older, but he's still a TOP pass rusher, please give your thoughts on this

The problem is that it is very difficult to evaluate him.

Something like 3 years, $75m probably gets it done but it's hard to know if he's a 6-sack or a 16-sack player right now.

You are not going to want him on the books after 2027

I think he is an excellent short term solution, even if he is expensive. But they need to develop a high level talent to replace him

You dont pass on Bain at 12 just because you signed Hendrickson
Whether we sign either one of them, im confused as to how they line up. Neither one of them play OLB, maybe Crosby can cover a bit, but he hasnt really been asked to. In any event we need OLBs dont we? Im really curious to see how Parkers defense lines up.

They would both be OLB's. The coverage responsibilities for 3-4 OLB's is very minimal

DE is thin right now. Having him on the team makes them better positioned for the draft. I really want a safety and a LB.

To me MLB is the most important position in the defensive side. Cowboys will have a hard time if that position is not covered now and in the future.

I would think they'd still be asked to cover rbs and tes. But as Parker said its not a traditional 3-4, so maybe you're right and those snaps are very limited.

Im also really curious to see how Osa does at DE and not sure that isnt a bigger need than weve let on.

Hendrickson has been playing about half his snaps at OLB the last few years. Crosby doesn't play OLB quite as much but gets some OLB snaps as well. We worry way too much about the DE/OLB differences when these guys are mostly playing very similar roles.

I agree Hendrickson is risky, not just due to age and health but his game is also limited and not suited to our new defense.

Hes pretty much 100% speed and bend edge rusher. Thats all you get with him.

And, no way Baine is there at 12. He’s the #3 overall on the consensus top 100 Big Board

lets sign every FA, screw the NFL, we re going to buy a SB. every FA is cleary better than what we have. we can replacy Aubrey too, and Queinten as well.

I am all for Hendrickson. He will be a great fit in 3-4 next to Quinnen. Stout interior with pass rush is a major recipe for success at highest level. He actually fits the system better than Crosby despite not being as talented, IMO.

I would rather them sign Loyd personally. Less money and younger? And we haven’t had a great actual line backer since Lee.

Maybe we can get lucky and sign him to a "prove it" contract lol
He isn't going to sign some low prove it deal. He is 31, and wants as much as possible probably before his career is over. Prior to last season he has back to back 17+ sack years. He will get a good check.
