Source: Cowboys want to sign 2 Free Agent Difference Makers for Defense

Not sure what you mean.
They keep talking about spending money and being active in FA, when we have nothing in salary cap space to spend.

It all appears to be just talk as usual.

If they were serious, moves to create space would have been made in advance of the start of FA.

I know several of you believe we can in a snap of a finger. What we can do, and what we have to do done are not the same thing.

Hopefully they back up their talk with some action before FA starts.

I'll be watching for Risen to break any and every news tomorrow!!

I think that they sign 1 of the top edge rushers which could be a guy in the top 5 free agents.
Just to show us what they're serious?!!!

Archer says they will sign at least 1 difference maker and Fisher says that people inside the building believe that they can sign 2.
No matter who they sign they’ll immediately call them difference makers. Fans will lap it up. Could be guys no one has even heard of and fan forums, this one included, will be convinced they’re future Hall of Famers by mid-August.

I suspect that there are more than 40 kickers out there that are good enough to kick in the NFL.
Hopefully we hear there's been offers

That would be a training camp competition and what would likely happen is that a couple of teams will have 2 good kickers and will have to cut 1 before the season starts. Which opens the door on getting a decent one.
The dolphins I think just let one go hell we may get lucky again and find one in the ufl

Two defensive difference makers means two pass rushers. If the Joneses pull that off (Any combination of Hendrickson, Oweh, Chubb, Mafe, ect) I would be impressed.
Nah, I’m thinking an Edge and either LB, CB or FS. We need more help behind the D-line than we do on it.

There are no playmaker corners available and I doubt if the Cowboys sign Lloyd. The Cowboys are hunting pass rushers.why wouldn't they sign Lloyd or Dean. Just about everyone is better than what we had. What supstar DEs are available besides Hendrickson?

They can create space in an instant. Reworking an existing contract isn’t some big negotiation with the player, it’s already worked out. They just need to fork over the coming years salary, or a portion thereof, in cash up front, then spread that amount over the life of the deal, for cap accounting purposes.

There’s no real sense in creating room until you know what you need, and those things can be done simultaneously.

Don’t have to walk into the market with five bucks in your wallet to walk out with five bucks worth of stuff. This is commonplace.

As far as doubting whether they actually are going outbid (and very likely overpay out of need) other teams is a different story. I dont blame you at in the slightest for having doubts. Most of us do, but it’s not about availability cap space…it’s about the willingness to create it and actually pull the trigger.

That is not going to happen with Clark or Williams. They both will want an extension.
