My gawd-the opposite sides of the spectrum on this thread are hilarious. One side is still totally on board with getting Crosby even without knowledge of the extent to injury. The other side does not want him at all without knowing the extent of the injury. Then the mediators that feel like all things are possible. One thing is certain-Baltimore’s medical team and front office are MUCH more conservative than our FO. Maybe it’s because one FO has zero accountability and 100% job security.

Just with trades, here’s some history

According to Diana Russini, this has happened a few times with the Ravens:

• "This is not the first time a failed physical has scuttled a deal on the Ravens’ end
• It happened in 2018 when they agreed to terms with free-agent wide receiver Ryan Grant but didn’t go through with signing him because of an ankle issue.
• It happened again with Michael Brockers in 2020."

Then there was this Jaire Alexander "trade" last year:

• "On November 1, 2025, the Ravens traded Alexander along with a 2027 seventh-round pick to the Eagles in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick.
  • On November 11, Alexander announced he would be stepping away from football to focus on his physical and mental health. He was placed on the reserve/retired list the following day."
  • Alexander is on the Eagles for 10 days(!) and retires. Eagles did NOT get the 6th round pick back

Don’t get me started under involvement with the Ray Lewis coverup.

I do not see what is wrong with the Ravens did since the players had injury issues and backed out, do you expect the Ravens to keep a player that has injuries?

2 1/2 years ago. A lot can change in 2 1/2 years, although his numbers overall don't show a lot of change. He did record 9 sacks in 2023 (before the extension) after getting a season-high 9.5 two years earlier and six in just nine games in 2022 before tearing an ACL. They probably thought they had an ascending player when they gave him that extension at the end of his rookie contract.

Trading him for a 2027 fourth-round pick tells me that they don't think nearly as much of him now. Doesn't mean they are right, but teams don't give away their top talent.

I’m not sure about giving them anything, even for a first-rounder. I’m wary of a player who is about to turn 30 and has a history of injuries.

No. Teams trade a player for next year's fourth-round pick because that's all they are worth. Dallas tried to trade for Crosby but he was worth two first-round picks, so they backed out. No one approached the Packers offering that only for them to say no, we decided we want to just take a 2027 fourth-rounder from Dallas.
