Please tell me the Ravens DID NOT know this before agreeing to the trade. "On track means you agree to give up TWO 1st round picks for an injured player. No team will touch him now without a clean medical clearance from their doctors. Sounds like the Raiders may have to keep him.........

Honestly, I would consider a straight-up Osa for Crosby trade........no draft capital.

With the Ravens (per the Raiders) backing out of the trade agreement that would have sent Maxx Crosby to Baltimore, one of Crosby’s agents has chimed in.

“Maxx continues to be on track in his recovery and if anything is ahead of schedule according to his surgeon Dr Neal El Attrache,” agent C.J. LaBoy said on Twitter. “Maxx remains on track to return during the offseason program & will undoubtedly return as the dominant game wrecker he has been these past 7 seasons.”

Dude, I’m trading 20, osa and Gary for him lol…..dude is way better than Gary. We get him and our starting D line has 2 all pros and a pro bowl on it, with EZE likely getting better and benefiting from the other 3. Then we fill in corner with 12, and pick up Dre Greenlaw and another rotational LB, and I like how it’s looking for next season.

Hawkeye, that meniscus surgery was known to the entire league in week 14 last year. The Ravens certainly knew it and knew that it would likely keep him out of OTAs and minicamp.

This wasn’t some surprise announcement. He’s on track by every standard timeline for repair

My guess would be they probably saw diminishing returns, and they didn't want ro commit two 1st to that. Basically would be paying for what he did in Oakland, without getting the same playee

Of course his agent is going to say he is on track.

Like did people think his agent was going to say, "yeah, my client's knee is totally wasted and he will never be the player he once was".

My guess is the resonance testing showed either the knee wasn’t where it should be in recovery or they found a degenerative condition.

I think DeCosta and the Ravens regret what they gave up and that is why they backed out.

The Ravens already backed out of the trade.

They should have taken our deal. We see injured players as a plus. Maybe we would have upped our offer if we had known.

Anyways have fun with the Raiders Maxx.

Everyone knew about the current surgery. This would lead me to thinking they found something else that's degenerative.
Even if they didn't find something new 2 1st for a guy who's unlikely to have 5 good seasons left was always a bit much. Just can't find the logic of trading 2 1st round players with 5 good seasons for one very close to peaking the hill.
Offer them the 20th pick under the condition we get a 2nd back in 2028 if he can't at a high level!

Investigate what exactly?
The Ravens have every right to back out of any trade for any reason up until the minute the trade is approved by the league. Even if they simply got cold feet.
Not the first team to back out of a trade and won't be the last.
Just because this was for a high impact player and high end draft resources doesn't change that.
The only recourse the league has would be ending the legal tampering.
In the end the only obligation the Ravens have is doing what they feel is best for their team.
