Hendrickson to Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens have agreed to sign free agent defensive end Trey Hendrickson, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter, in a high-priced pivot after their canceled blockbuster trade for Maxx Crosby.

The sides agreed to a four-year, $112 million deal that can be worth up to $120 million with incentives, according to Schefter. The deal includes $60 million fully guaranteed and a $20 million signing bonus, sources told Schefter.

It looks like Crosby was a place holder for the Ravens until they were sure they could sign Hendrickson. This stunt caused other teams that missed out on Crosby to have to do other deals.

Dallas and the budget-buster team were nowhere to be found. It’s amazing how Jerry and Capboy can live with themselves, lying to the fans like they do each and every year.

I guess that’s what billionaires do.
How can you possibly know they were "nowhere to be found"?
Maybe they were furiously trying to sign him and he just chose Baltimore.

For a deal to get done that quick after them backing out of the Crosby trade makes you wonder if they were negotiating the whole time, reached a FA deal that obviously didn't require losing two first round draft picks and then used Crosby's health as an excuse to cover it.
Either way, they overpaid...

I absolutely believe it.

it was well orchestrated, as they say. Late in the day Tuesday, Hendrickson announces he will have a decision Wednesday. Tuesday night the Ravens do what they did?

Yep
Something NFL needs to stop
If this deal is done then NFL negotiating period loses a lot of credibility IMO

The Colts, Bills, Bucs, Commanders and Eagles all were involved in Trey Hendrickson's free agency before the All-Pro agreed to terms with the Ravens, per sources.

The Colts felt like they were close at one point.

The Eagles got involved late.

Tampa pursued but on a short-term deal.

Hendrickson wanted a long-term deal with a contender. Buffalo fit that mold. But Baltimore put it over the top Tuesday night.

To be technical the trade wasn't fully done until the physical was completed. I'm pretty sure there was something there for the Ravens to veto the trade.

That is exactly what I am thinking. As Fisher said, everybody knew that Crosby had surgery and needed x amount of time to finish healing. Sounds like the Ravens played dirty.

The trade wasnt done because it couldnt be done yet, physical or no physical. The Ravens didnt need an excuse, they could just say... nah, we changed our mind.

Reminds me a little bit of the DeAndre Jordan and Mavericks saga. He had a verbal agreement to sign with the Mavs and backed out at the last minute. That situation does have some differences, but it was also during a Free Agency period.

Wow. I just saw the news that the Crosby trade fell apart. If I am Maxx Crosby I am super ticked off at the Ravens.

If not for the Ravens offering 2 first round picks, he would be a Cowboys today for a 1st and a 2nd.

which ever team Crosby plays for, I think you can pretty much guarantee a career day when he plays the ravens.

I’m honestly extremely thankful for the Ravens for these shenanigans or the cowboys would have blown their entire draft on one player that was never going to put the cowboys over the top. They truly saved us from our incompetent ownership as I fully believe the Raiders would have taken Dallas’ offer if the Ravens hadn’t gazumped us. I suppose it matters little at the end of the day since Dallas doesn’t appear to be interested in making serious attempts at improving the roster this season anyways but still…

Boy a real front office in action. I mean can a Cowboys fan dream. :banghead:
