FEATURED Free Agency 2026 thread

Even if we had to give him 6.5 or 7 mil, this would have been a really good signing. This one kinda ticked me off we didnt try

Too each their own awuzi was pretty average when here. Unless he got better I’m ok with passing on him

I hear the cap is imaginary. Dak's contract doesn't matter etc etc.
Tell me how the Eagles have a mere 400 million more committed to void years than we do if that cap is so prohibitive.

Not sure about the Osa deal.
Need to see how the money shakes out because I think his entire signing bonus hits our cap, which means we save little in cap space this year. I think it's just like 4 mil in cap savings this year.
We could have restructured him and saved 12 mil in cap space.
There goes our strength at DT, for a late 3rd rounder.

We save a little over 4 million

We been aggressive. If you look at the entire last 3 days and big picture then compare it to the last 3 years combined, we are operating different. Dunno if it means anything significant but we do seem to be using a new blueprint.

lol you guys gripe we don’t have any draft picks! The dude didn’t fit the scheme so you restructured his contract to only cut him next year have dead money on the cap ! Save some cap space but more important gets him off the books

So we have now gone from 4 quality DTs to 2. Plus the guy who barely playrd for the Chargers.
Why have a position of strength?

This is a fallacy.
Last year we traded for both Elam and Murray, and signed both Sanborn and Thomas, On day 1 of FA.

They get cap savings once this contract is off the books this yr. Whole bonus paid out is absorbed now

I didn't gripe about not havingbac3rd rounder. We have George Pickens.
I think Osa was a good DT. By all metrics he is. Why dump a solid player?
We had tremendous depth at 1 position on our Defense. Dt, until about 30 minutes ago that is.
I liked that 5 man front with Quinnwn, Clark and Osa all out there. And Thomas was a really solid depth piece for what he cost.
We just dumped him for nothing.

We seem to be playing by a different set of financial rules than other teams.
