Raiders are telling teams they're not trading Crosby

If he can be gotten for the #20 pick and only that, then I would be interested. That leaves us with a lot of work to do in the secondary but use the 12 on either Styles if he drops that far, or Mansoor if he is available, and if neither are, try and trade down for an extra 2nd rounder and pick up two solid pieces. We also have the SF 3rd rounder which we could use to maybe double dip at CB/LB as we need numbers at both positions.

I think it's also that they just think too highly of his talent to simply take anything for him. If they are going to trade him they are still going to want two firsts imo. They just might try it later on this year or next year once he is over his rehab. He's getting his 30 million guaranteed tomorrow. The Raiders can absorb that and restructure if necessary. So I've always thought that the best play for them now was to keep him. They are not in a desperate situation financially.
This is like Micah. Can't win with him. Same with Crosby in Vegas. They overvalued him plain and simple. Agree.

I thought the raiders couldn’t afford to keep him with all the free agent acquisitions?
They knew he was damaged. They found a sucker. It nearly worked. But the Ravens knew he had knee clean up. But how bad are his knees? Hmmm

I know people keep saying "demanded" but we don't know for sure he demanded a trade or simply asked for one.

Demanding a trade suggests he was going to be unhappy if he remained.

Requesting a trade leaves room for teams to do something (not just financially) to show they want the player to stay.
YESSSSSS question of the day! Was he upset, when he realized the defense CP was employing was it a sign for him that he doesn't fit, doesn't want to play in the 3/4, or did someone say something to him like hey we're moving on from ya we can't have (3) 20 million DT's

It was a dumb trade from the beginning with Hendrickson sitting there as a free agent and probably get identical or better production out of him

What aren’t people able to process?

The Ravens weren’t expecting Crosby to be able to pass the physical at this point in his rehab. It’s almost assuredly the reviewing doctors didn’t like something about his knee structurally/physiologically that made his short term future prognosis questionable for them to 1) give up all that draft capital; and 2) pay him all that money.

This is not unheard of.

The SF Giants failed Carlos Correa after his physical (ankle issue) after agreeing to terms on huge contract. The NY Mets promptly signed him only also fail him after his physical. I believe he ultimately signed with the Twins.
As a Mets fan, that is the first situation I thought of and they were right. If you're going to take on someone at a steep price you do your due diligence. It'd be one thing if the Ravens or any other team had never done this before but the Ravens have done it twice before, including with Brock Marion coming off our last Super Bowl win. Players should not trust owners and owners shouldn't trust players and owners shouldn't trust owners. I get the sentiment that "everyone is a filthy liar nowadays" but every so often, maybe it is just business and nothing personal.

Honestly, I think that's the best move by the Raiders. They are building a new team.

Assuming he fully recovers (and he should) he's a great player. Fans love him and will likely show that even more now that he's back.

They can look to trade him again in a year or two, but for now they should go all in on Crosby being back.

Crosby has already come out saying he's happy, so that's a great first step.
I agree. They’ll never get his worth in a trade now.

Lol lol lol right!!! Knowing this medical situation who would be crazy enough to ruin their franchise!
everyone knew his medical situation BEFORE the Ravens agreed to the deal. You think the Ravens agreed to give 2 firsts and pay that hefty salary without seeing any of his medical information until the day he showed up at the facility to take a physical?

maybe they didn't and thought by the opening of the day on Wed he'd magically be healed

Translation: "Nobody else has offered us two firsts."
Pretty much, but could always happen on draft day. Veteran players are worth the least on draft so if the Cowboys are up and all their targets are gone maybe they try flipping the pick for Crosby.

Not happening. All their targets won't be gone in the first round. I've heard this said over and over again. Their board should be stocked with players, since before the Osa trade they had no day two picks. And none of the their targets would still be there in the fourth and fifth round.

The Crosby trade market might not heat up again until the summer when he might refuse to report.

A lot of bridges burned between him and the Raiders.
He requested a trade. It’s the Raiders who should be mad. They traded him to a good team. That team decided not to do the deal. The Raiders didn’t back out. He’s not requesting a trade now. How did the Raiders burn bridges?

If they didn’t they are now the dumbest front office in the NFL.

They realized that 1) his value on the market dropped considerably with the Ravens backing out over health concerns, 2) fewer teams would be interested now after making their alternative/backup moves, and 3) they already upset a lot of their fans with his trade so no reason to go through that again.
Their defense is much better with him also and with their additions they should be a better team. Especially after the draft.
