Signed by Cowboys Cowboys sign CB Cobie Durant

That's a good get. He's at least a very solid CB. That takes some pressure off the young guys.

IMHO, so far JJ and co are doing a decent job. They need to keep it going by adding perhaps another DB and I'd love to see a quality MLB added, probably via trade at this point, as there isn't much left on the open market.
I am getting the sense that linebacker position is being earmarked for the draft. They still will add some sort of bridge type of veteran, but the linebacker class is real good this year. I keep on telling many, don't be surprised if CJ Allen from Georgia is our Booker pick this year. He actually was calling their defense and we hired his positional coach from Georgia on our staff.

Disappointed that this guy was only a starter because of injuries ....... the way everyone was talking he sounded like a perennial pro-bowler.

Hope this works out ......... like it almost never does with these types of players.

Top 40 PFF corner each of the last two years, plays the boundary and in his prime. Was projected to get a solid multi year deal. Wonder what the issue is here?
He mostly played slot his first 2 seasons.
Just under 5'11. Guessing what he had in mind as an outside corner was quite a bit more than what teams were viewing his market value as slot. At 5'11, 185 4.38 40 it would seem the perfect position for him.
Rams going out a getting both corners from the Chiefs probably didn't help either!!

You know he does remind me a little bit of Lewis, Around the same size very aggressive in tackling Really good slot corner why not keep Bland outside with Revel, and then whoever you might pick up in the draft.. They do have depth Butler is coming back healthy this year, he didn't get to play last year, and I really liked his upside from what I saw of him the first time he was here..

Removes need to draft Corner. Some flexibility there. I get feeling it'll be DT and LB in some order in 1st
Not really. But means you don’t have to. If delane is there, you take him. Ideally you get a guy at every position of need so you don’t have to reach in the draft

Looks like he's gotten some solid grades at times, but has also been up and down and was among the leaders in tds given up last year. As we know some of those stats are subjective as it's not always clear who's assignment it was. However, the article below probably explains why it's a short term deal. I certainly wouldn't count on him as being a plug and play starter, but he brings starting experience and can see him being the 3rd or 4th guy. For what it's worth he would have led the Cowboys in INTs and pass breakups so he can make plays on the ball.

Right. I think it's LB and CB. Maybe even Safety if Downs or Thieneman are there. There is good value in the later rounds at NT. Like Capehart and Durant.
I think we still need a corner. DT isn't an urgent need

I think DT is more of a need now after trading two (depth?) a couple of days ago.

Clowney can still rush the passer.
Period.
Parker needs to make it fit. Not the other way around.
It’s funny to see people trying to tell Parker—who isn’t even reading this—how to do his job as our new DC, when he was hired because we trust him to make the right calls, especially with roster changes.

Clowney might still have something left to give, but if you’ve noticed, he hasn’t stayed on a team for more than a year or two in a long time, and there’s a reason for that. If they bring him back, fine, if not, no big deal.

A lot of this is his choice anyway—some veterans skip early offseason programs, don’t bother with extra work, and roll in closer to camp or even just a few weeks before the season to get ready and then go to work.

This isn’t just on the Cowboys; some players do it intentionally. Also, plenty happens after the draft—teams like the Cowboys will make more moves once they know exactly who they got and who they didn’t. That’s why I don’t love free agency so far before the draft; you can target free agents more precisely afterward.

Remember, they picked up George Pickens in May when they missed out on TET, and traded Parsons right before the season started. Big moves can still come, even during the draft, so anyone disappointed with the offseason so far probably isn’t seeing how this process really works.

Hopefully he bring what was missed when we let Jordan Lewis walk. (Slot QB with toughness and DAWG mentality).

I think Allen is the fallback option at 12 if they get wiped out as well. Recent reports indicating Miami is probably not going corner at 11 w all of their new DB signings. So that could open the door to Delane , if he’s the best available.

I hope not.

Jerry is moving with urgency…

All it took was making history on the defensive side of the ball

What's good is even if he is only on a one year deal, he could probably man on of the starting CB spots if Revel or Bland isn't ready the start of the season (Both should be ready though). But he should take the starting slot role from Reddy.
