How would you musically rate this year's Super bowl halftime show

That’s the thing though. You don’t know anyone who listens to him but he’s the biggest artist in the world. Not just Puerto Rico.

He’s Puerto Rican. He’s not from South America.

I’m confused so where you live there’s no one that speaks Spanish or a different language? America has so many cultures and so many people and different languages. That’s what makes this place great to live.

Younger doesn’t mean better. Prince had a great performance and one of my favorite. Rihanna’s….terrible. I liked Coldplay’s too.

Nobody you know was happy with the performance? I thought you didn’t watch it and watched Kid Rock?

I had no idea what he was saying. But that’s a reflection on me not him. One of my best friends is a Puerto Rican from New York. Their culture is beautiful and I think that’s what I got from
The performance. He introduced us to our culture and it was beautiful.

I grew up in the era where TRL was popular as was acts like Kid Rock, Limp Bizkit, etc. the irony though is back when Kid Rock did perform it was deemed disrespectful by Americans for punching a hole in the American Flag and sticking his big head through it.

When Bad Bunny performed there was no disrespect and as a matter of fact was completely respectful.

I’m perfectly fine if they go to Nigeria next year or Australia or Mexico or Jamaica or anymore underrepresented cultures. So many beautiful places you should check them out.
Puerto Ricans are US citizens...

The point of the SB halftime show is to “bring energy” to the crowd that may not necessarily be watching for the game - like younger people, young women, etc.

Motley Crue might bring some energy to the 65-70 year old male crowd who listened to MC 40 years ago in high school, but it isn’t going to draw the viewership the NFL desires.

It is obvious to see why the NFL has moved from legacy rock acts to modern day artists. Viewership = money.

I don’t really care about the halftime show. What I care about, even though I shouldn’t I suppose, is how every year, hordes of 50+ year old people who haven’t listened to a new artist in decades (unless said new artist fits the exact niche they want to hear, want the artist to look and sound like, etc) come out in droves, pissed off that the NFL didn’t choose some band full of dudes playing guitar that they listened to in high school, and push this superiority complex thing.

It’s really the superiority complex that bugs me - “my choice in music is BETTER because it is OLDER and it features a PATRIOT playing the electric GUITAR. And that’s who the NFL should have chosen!!!”

I’d like to see a shredding guitar solo during the halftime show too. I’d love to see Cryptopsy do it with Lord Worm back on vocals, eating live nightcrawlers from a golden chalice as he did. But I know it won’t happen, because it would not be popular.

We might be able to get Metallica someday because they’re popular with the kids. Green Day maybe.
I would be 100% in favor of Green Day and would definitely favor Metallica over what we had this year.
That said I'm always looking for groups that have a good sound I listen to the record company and the glorious sons and like both quite a bit but don't think they would necessarily have the following to draw an audience for the Super bowl.

Cryptopsy would probably be a little too mainstream for most people.
Maybe if he ate a small nest of baby rattlesnakes it would be a little more appealing.

Move aside folks. You're old. Just like your parents were mad at you for your Iron Maiden posters and Motley Crue songs glamorizing drugs, and their parents were mad at them for that hippy dippy music, you too can now get mad at your kids for all that Spanish reggaeton or rap music that glamorizes excess. Just how it works.
