"This is incredible!" Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey is going FAST

Am I the only person here who thinks that this forum is vastly underrating the value of a good kicker?

Where would the Colts or Pats be ring-wise if they trotted out some scrub instead of Vinatieri?
No ...... only people with no clue would want to get rid of Aubrey.

The league has changed how they do field goals now. It makes Aubrey a luxury. Kicker is important but I need someone who can kick 40 yarders. Kicking 60 plus is a luxury. I wouldn’t give him away but everyone has a price and that would be his.

You can’t sit there with a straight face and say that knowing full well this teams struggles in the red zone.

lol. So you wouldn’t take 2 firsts for Pickens but would give up the guy who’s won us games off his boot?

Makes total sense.
No I said I would do it for 2 1sts. I dont trade Pickens for a 2nd.

Aubrey won nothing I hate how you guys overate him because it puts me in a tough spot critiquing him and his position. And I don’t want to but be for real. A kickers job only goes as far as an offense can get him down field. Pickens did far more for us than he did.

The sad aspect of this is Kneeland probably would have been a beast as a base end in Parker's hybrid defense. Rest in peace 94.
All these guys to me development got delayed. Joseph is the one guy I’m like naw there was nothing there. He had too much going on. But guys like Eze, Kneeland and Sam shouldn’t be lumped in with him and Schoon.

It also cannot be denied the Cowboys have gone too conservative on offense too many times assuming they have three points in their back pocket just by reaching the logo at midfield.

If a team needs a kicker to kick 60-plus yard field goals on a consistent basis, they aren't a very good team. Give me a 2nd round pick that can help change that and a run-of-the-mill kicker that can give me extra points and 45 yard field goals will do.

Exactly what I was getting at. They rely too much on having a guy who can kick from 60. All I need is someone who I kick from
40-50.

And the past doesn't matter. What matters is the present and we have Parker picking from what is available.

Nobody wants to get rid of him. I love Lamb but if someone offered 2 1sts for him I’d trade him as well. No one is untradeable especially a kicker.
Same here. Use one of the 1sts on a WR and have him on a rookie contract for five years and be free of a massive cap hit.

No one cares about having a quality kicker until you don’t have one. Very easy position to not realize what you have til it’s gone.

People also probably overrate the value of a 2nd round pick. You’re less than 50/50 odds of finding a regular starter. Only about 33% of 2nd round picks will ever make a pro bowl.

Based off last years stats Compared to the average kicker Aubrey added about 1ppg. I think it’ll be tough to find a 2nd round player that adds that much value year 1.

It’s such stupid logic. So because we missed on Taco that means we shouldn’t want 1st rounders lol. It just makes no sense.

So you think Parker is ok with where the LB room is?

You guys really don’t know how this team runs do you?

Quinn wanted Wagner here years ago. Jerry told him no.

I bet you like others were saying he was washed anyways. And yet now you’re saying to bring him in.

If it was so hard to get a kicker, someone would trade a 2nd for Aubrey. They aren't doing it.

I just think this is a flawed and scary way of thinking. So now we don’t want second rounders out of the fear they bust. You could also find the next Trevon Diggs or D Law as well. You just don’t know. And we all know how deep this draft is for defense.

With a 2nd from Aubrey the Cowboys could trade that and number 20 to move way up in the 1st round as well; while still having pick 12. That's much better value than a kicker.

And I am not hating on Aubrey. I want him in Dallas for a long time. But in the end he's still a kicker. The Cowboys won three Super Bowls in the 1990s with a different kicker each time.
