"This is incredible!" Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey is going FAST

With a 2nd from Aubrey the Cowboys could trade that and number 20 to move way up in the 1st round as well; while still having pick 12. That's much better value than a kicker.

And I am not hating on Aubrey. I want him in Dallas for a long time. But in the end he's still a kicker. The Cowboys won three Super Bowls in the 1990s with a different kicker each time.
Yeah you could....but again I'm just not sure the value there outweighs what you get....A 2nd rounder + pick 20 probably gets you to what, pick 13 or so???

Is pick 13 + best kicker available better than pick 20 + Aubrey?

If you're truly worried about Aubrey's end of 2025 misses then yeah its probably makes a lot of sense to go that route....if not and you think hes capable of being perfect inside 50 yards and can hit you multiple from 60+ once again I think there is more value than people realize there. That's roughly 8 additional FGs than a league average kicker. Is that player you get in a trade up 24 points better than the pick at 20? Tough to measure in the NFL, but that's a lot for one player to produce.

I’m honestly being facetious. Aubrey is just as important as Pickens though.

You guys are just so quick to get rid of him. He hasn’t quit on this team like Pickens has a few times.

Also. How do you think it’s going to get better? It got worse as the season went on. This has been an issue for years. It’s not new. They stall at half all the damn time. And it’s usually because of a stupid hold that puts them at 1st and 20.

Highest penalized team again.

Without Aubrey kicking those 60 yarders you say they don’t need the cowboys are picking top 5 this year.
Well for starters it will get better if they stop being conservative and go for it that will help. We won 7 games with Aubrey. **** I wish he was why we did maybe we would have a top 5 pick.

And for the record this is not me wanting to get rid of him. I want to keep him. I like Dak too but if someone offered me 2 1sts for him he too can go. Same goes for Lamb.

Yeah the big leg thing is becoming life as usual in the nfl and in domes...however outside and in weather its a totally different scenario and neutralizes his value of the big leg....im with you if we could get a 2nd 3rd or 4th id trade him and look for the next guy
Yep. Maher had a similar start no one remembers how good he was and then he hit that tough stretch.

Maher was only good at deep kicks then he would miss XPs lol. It was infuriating.

Aubrey is one of the most accurate kickers in the league. Come on dude lol.

I wish we had a top 5 pick too. Winning all those games after getting Q was so infuriating. The playoffs were never in reach. This team just can’t tank. They refuse to.

It will be interesting what happens with Aubrey. Will he play on the tender or will he sign a multi year deal? I don't see anybody trading a 2nd round pick for him. I think that he will sign a multi year deal which will give the Cowboys more cap space. It's something to keep an eye on.

The fact this team needs Aubrey because they get stalled at midfield too often….do we watch the same games?

And in response to your other comment.

Pickens didn’t do more for them than Aubrey scored 155 points. Pickens scored 54.

Let’s talk about the games Pickens vanished in.
We aren’t going to get far in the playoffs, if we even get there, by relying on Aubrey kicking field goals from midfield. Is staying mediocre the goal now? Because from what we’ve done so far this off season, it has not made us much better, right?

Not where we needed to be.

Not sure if this is satire or not.

I’d prefer that to 7-9-1

I wouldn’t take a fourth, maybe a third and I won’t be mad if they got a second.

Sorry, just can’t get into this car racing thing… reminds me too much of just watching and driving in Austin traffic. Without the tollways and road rage.

I mean if someone gave me the keys to an f1 car I would be very giddy

Am I the only person here who thinks that this forum is vastly underrating the value of a good kicker?

Where would the Colts or Pats be ring-wise if they trotted out some scrub instead of Vinatieri?
you can tell the fools by how they brush off how hard it is to get a top Kicker and how often we have paid the price for not having one

Not what I said at all....I never said you don't want second round picks, I simply said we need to be aware of the hit rates. Yes you could find a very good starter, but statistically based on the data over the last 25 years once you get past pick 40 you're odds of finding a player who will make even 1 pro bowl in their career drops below 20%. If a rebuilding team is looking to offload a stud kicker for a top 60 pick I think its a no brainer....If you have hopes of making a run in the upcoming year I would probably advise against losing that kicker simply because the value of that 2nd round draft pick is a long shot to overcome the lost value of going from a top tier kicker to a league average one.
I mean we know the hit rates. Hell a first round pick can bust. I’d take my chances on a 2nd rounder because of how deep this draft is. If Cowboys become more aggressive because they don’t have a kicker who can make it from 60 we will be better for it. If I can get Anthony Hill with my 2nd round pick for Aubrey I do it.

they had a chance until Lions blew the breaks off our ***.

Maher wasn’t as good as Aubrey im just saying we felt good about Maher until the Buccs game came or maybe like a game before that.
