I used to work with a guy whose daughter got knocked up by an NBA player. I don't remember his name, he played for the Trailblazers 20+ years ago, but he was known for getting into that situation. She chased him around and threw herself at him until she got pregnant. Then she stopped seeing him, had the baby, got paternity tested, and her lawyer called him. She ended up IIRC getting over $60K/month. My friend had no use for his daughter and what she did, but he was still her dad and the baby's grandfather so he didn't disown her or anything. This is the type of situation that created these caps on child support. Personally I feel this injustice is self inflicted. Just like many things in society where we label someone as "the victim", but it's really really easy to not let it happen to you. One of my dad's favorite sayings, "You play you pay." And the only ones who are going to be hurt by this are the kids. Treats them like a commodity. Texas has set the market value on your estranged children at a dollar amount.

I’m not disputing any of those things. My comment was about the prenup only.

As for the dollar amount, it won’t be the Texas set limit because they allow much more for high earners like Dak.

Accountable for something that was claimed and not yet proven. That is my whole issue with this thread.

The difference is Irvin was real. Love him or hate him you got the real deal from him. He was what he was and he didn't hide from it.

It has been over a week since Sarah Jane Ramos (link) publicly commented on speculation that a prenuptial agreement between Dak Prescott and her was the cause of their wedding cancellation. Prescott has not commented on the topic since.

No official statement. No tweet. No ambiguous personal reflection about the ending of a relationship. Nothing. Crickets.

I am not sure why anyone ever started any-and-all speculation about a prenup being the cause. As always, it takes two to tango, and only one of the two people in this dance has had the cajónes to say ANYTHING about the wedding's cancellation publicly.

I can't believe that the general consensus is she should have signed it. I'm not a woman but I would have told him to go screw himself too. This isn't a business agreement and if families have to sign prenups then it's not a family.

Ridiculous. So one party brings to the relationship besides love $250m, the other party brings love and nothing else. The party that brought only love to the party and did nothing to create that $250m is entitled to what? Money created after the marriage is fair game.

There's your problem. somehow you bring up entitlement like it belongs in a conversation with marriage family and children. sorry, I find it completely inhumane to even think like that with someone you have lived with, have a family, and supposedly want to marry. I'd be surprised if Dak wasn't doing it because it would make him look good finally being the proper father figure to his children. Rather than "Just get knocked up and live together."
