Signed by Cowboys Cowboys re-sign CB Corey Ballentine

The 3 year contract on the safety doesn't count in your book. You are always right with your rules. Very impressive.
They did do a three-year deal, which was outside of their norm. Of course, it was for a lower-value position, but still they made a commitment to a player that was not on the team. Too bad they don't do that more often than one player in the last 14 years.

I was surprised how out of position he was. It was like he never played CB before. Maybe these new coaches can do something with him. If we add a CB or two in the draft, Ballentine will be camp body then bye bye.
Begs the question
Who in our secondary under E'flus was consistently in position consistently?

I consider myself more than just the average Cowboys' fan. I'm embarrassed to say that this is the first time I've ever heard this guy's name before.

How can this be a depth signing when we really don't have adequate starting players at this position to begin with? Just asking...

Man...I have never heard that name before. Guess I owe my wife an apology - wasn't always "locked in" on the games. Maybe I could have folded those clothes

This is quality rather than low hanging fruit like “Ballentine’s Day.”

Welcome back to the team, Ballentine!

Corey Ballentine is most likely going to fit in as a special teams addition, rather than as an active CB. It's fairly likely that the draft may provide some help there, however. The way that the draft falls might possibly play a role in that decision. There are some good ones to be had, without question. Of course, a middle linebacker could easily be the answer to this team's needs, as well. A capable DE could also be a target for an early pick. The Cowboys' defensive needs are obvious and desperately beg for help. I'm looking for an inside LB, CB or DE to appear in the early rounds. Lots of fans will most likely agree.
