The Browns adjusted Garrett's contract (more tradeable) -- (See new thread)

If the Browns were smart they would seriously consider trading Garrett. They need a QB badly. The 2027 draft should be loaded with QBs. They have a draft pick in every round in 2027. They have a draft pick in every round this year with two 1st round picks this year. Trade some draft capital this year for draft capital in 2027. Trade Garrett for premium picks. Use some of that draft capital to go up in the 2027 draft to get their QB. They don’t need Garrett around possibly making their record better where they have to use more draft capital to move up to get the QB.

Adding Garrett would be like adding Charles Haley.

Its not a move for a team that has missed the playoffs in consecutive years.

Its a move you make when your winning 12 games and cant get over the hump. If he was younger id be less concerned about timing.

Tempting.

Having Garrett and Quinnen along the same front is the stuff of nightmares for OCs.

It would be a “go for broke” move, no doubt.

He is definitely worth 12 and 20 and if we signed a guy like Bobby Wagner to help at LBer, we would still have #92 to try and add another defensive starter somewhere.

If they want 3 first round picks, then you could give one each of the next 3 seasons and spread out the pain.

That would leave you with 20 this year to use as a trade back option and try and get back some more draft capital.

In the end, I am not sure I would do it, but if JJ swung for the fences and went after him, I wouldn’t complain. He immediately makes our front 7 formidable in some very scary ways

He's a great guy!!

Has anyone even thought that trading this much for a 30 year old player, going on 31??? YIkes
I was leaning towards yes, but forgot about his age. If he was a couple years younger and we were closer to being good, then it would be a no brainer. But realistically we are at least a year away from contending if not probably two. So opinion now is no way.

Not one player away obviously but that trade would make our line pretty formidable. If our offense stays as good as it’s been maybe a mid defense will be enough

Yeah, one player isn't going to fix this defense

I wouldn’t trade him if I was the Browns. They have a top notch D. They have enough draft capital to get a QB regardless.

Yes! Definetly would trade for Garrett. The same people saying no are the same people who complain about not making moves. Give me a sure fire D line player that can set edge, play the run and get to the QB all day over some JAG from Saginaw State because he has "traits". People saying they'd give their honest version of a "fair offer" like they accusethe Joneses of doing are crazy. Crosby was about to net 2 1st rounders and you guys think that the guy who's never missed a game and oh by the way set the NFL sack record isnt worth more than that? Lmao you guys are little Stephen's or Stephen's way of beign conservative has gotten to you. Go for broke and make moves. I swear I better not seeing of you crying or praising Howie if the eagles make this move.

I bet you would. As stupid as the Browns are, they’d never take that. Especially since there’ll probably be a bidding war.
Browns have difficult time recruiting FA's, so they like trades and often have to over pay. So Cleveland might be willing to give Pickens the most money.

I don’t doubt that they would overpay for Pickens. But if they can get 2 firsts plus, there is no way you trade for Pickens straight up. Unless you don’t think they can get that much for Garrett.

25 year old for a 31 year old.
