Ditto!I would just trade Pickens straight up.

The Galloway trade was an absolute disaster. He played ONE game (the season opener...where he blew out his knee) with Aikman and that was it. He never even came close to living up to that deal. One of the worst decisions Jerry ever made...if not THE worst. He would've been FAR better off (albeit with hindsight) taking Randy Moss in 1998. The Cowboys may have made another good run at a championship that year.If they want our 2 1st rounders....you do it NOW!!!! This front office has shown ZERO evidence that they can draft and develop a difference maker like Garrett, so why would you NOT do it?
People say we are not 1 player away....well last year we proved losing 1 player resulted in the worst defense in franchise HISTORY!!!!
And Garrett is much better than Parsons!
We gave up 2 1st rounders for Galloway. 2 1st rounders for Roy Williams. Green Bay gave up 2 1st rounders for Parsons....and y'all would not do it for Garrett???
Crosby is about 10 steps below Garrett. He no where near the level of Myles Garrett.I mean, if they were going to offer a 1st and 2nd for Crosby, who is a step below Garrett...
I think the team is set at edge right now up to the draft, and realistically if Crosby was traded for two first, Garrett would command more.
So why didn't Parsons make the run defense better? Why couldn't the Cowboys get it done with him in four seasons of trying? This defense needs to get better across the board before it becomes a "one player away" thing. Too many questions at LB, S and CB right now. Far too many. The man isn't worth 3 first round draft picks. And the Max Crosby sweepstakes happened BEFORE the Cowboys made all their subsequent player acquisitions. And even then, the Cowboys were only prepared to give up ONE first rounder.Adding Garrett makes alot of players better
If you get improvement from Revel, they could easily wind up with a top 10 defense this year with Garrett
Yes!! 12th pick
And Pickens . Let’s
Did he sign his franchise tag?I would just trade Pickens straight up.
Parsons did make the defense better. Also, not sure if you are aware, but we also have Williams and Clark now.So why didn't Parsons make the run defense better? Add Garrett to the moves we have made and suddenly you have a very compelling defense. Funny you mention Parsons, when his impact on the defense became very clear once we traded himSo why didn't Parsons make the run defense better? Right. That 1992 team was LOADED...front to back. Adding Haley was that "one player away" move that really put them over the top. The 2026 Cowboys are NOT loaded front to back. LB, S and CB are real concerns.Adding Garrett would be like adding Charles Haley.
Its not a move for a team that has missed the playoffs in consecutive years.
Its a move you make when your winning 12 games and cant get over the hump. If he was younger id be less concerned about timing.
Nice to know that Jerry decided to blow out his knee. That was really dumb. But I agree that he should have never given up two firsts regardless. The Galloway trade was an absolute disaster. The Cowboys didn't have a great defense in 2024...WITH Parsons. No way in hell could he have saved last years historically horrible defense. The Cowboys had the dude for four years...so where are the championships???
I don't get this logic....if we were one or two players away, trading for Garrett would be overkill IMO. We had one of the best, if not the best, offenses in the NFL last season and will return all starters. Had the worst defense and still came with 3 wins of a 10-win season, which is usually the floor for making the playoffs. I do not doubt that the addition of Garrett and CP elevates this defense to at least the top 15, maybe the top 10.The Cowboys are not one player away from a Superbowl.
Because he can't defend the run?So why didn't Parsons make the run defense better? Why couldn't the Cowboys get it done with him in four seasons of trying? Where are the championships? Four years. Not even a title game appearance. Teams ran on the Cowboys at will...when it mattered most.Parsons did make the defense better. Also, not sure if you are aware, but we also have Williams and Clark now.
If you don't get the logic, see 1993 and 1995.I don't get this logic....if we were one or two players away, trading for Garrett would be overkill IMO. We are not in a team rebuilding mode ( defense, yes ). Our window is now ....3-4 years max.
Bro, what are you talking about? Myles is not Micah--this is not the same team.Where are the championships? Four years. Not even a title game appearance. Teams ran on the Cowboys at will...when it mattered most.
That's rationalizing. Elevates is a nebulous term. A 10 win season probably means a team is on the road the entire way in the playoffs. Top ten? You give up three first rounders for Garrett, that motor-scooter better be a top three defense. Garrett is the "we are going to the Superbowl and we know it" move. This team has no clue how to make a Superbowl run right now. They haven't even been close.I don't get this logic....if we were one or two players away, trading for Garrett would be overkill IMO. In all fairness, Myles is better than Parsons. Teams intentionally ran AT Micah. You wouldn’t have that problem with Myles. But no way in heck do you trade three firsts. Probably not even two of them.Where are the championships? Four years. Not even a title game appearance. Teams ran on the Cowboys at will...when it mattered most.
Pickens has not signed his franchise tag so he’s in control of his trade status at this time. Cleveland takes a $36 million cap hit if they trade him prior to June one. They can spread that out over two years with a post June 1 trade, $15.5 million 2026 cap hit. Unfortunately that’s well after the 2026 NFL draft.Because he can't defend the run?
I would trade 20 and Pickens, and if that doesn't do it they can pound sand.
If I’m the Browns, I pretty much take that - maybe with a high Day 3 pick thrown in.I would just trade Pickens straight up.
You are not trading Pickens before the draft...so that isn't really on the table at this point. That could change but Pickens can't be traded until he signs the tag. Besides, a 20 and Pickens is probably not going to be enough. Not nearly enough if they want three first rounders for him...and if he's as good as advertised why wouldn't you demand three first-rounders? Moreover, it won't just be the Cowboys vying for his services.Because he can't defend the run?
