The Browns adjusted Garrett's contract (more tradeable) -- (See new thread)

It does not include the efforts of All-Pros like Garrett and Pickens.
As stated earlier, the Pickens talk is silly.........it was started by one poster obsessed with his narrative of removing him from the roster. Stephen Jones own words after tagging Pickens ....." we can't take a chance on losing him".

BTW... this same poster spent weeks pimping a Pickens-for-Crosby trade. In other words, take the Pickens/Garrett trade talk with a grain of salt.

Understood.

The Cowboys win seven games last season. The Browns won five. They have two things in common. Not enough good players and not enough draft picks.
i feel you, but you pair garett with the best offense in the league and q and im a believer

Garrett is not going to play for the Cowboys. If you want to believe the Cowboys have the best offense in the league than believe it.

The Browns obviously have a plan of what they want to do with Garrett. I don’t think anyone believes it involves using him to acquire a top wide receiver.

Browns owner Jimmy Haslam is very close to the Manning family going back to his days as a major booster of the University of Tennessee. A blind man can see what Haslam has in mind for the 2026 season. It does not include the efforts of All-Pros like Garrett and Pickens.
They better hope Arch actually gets good next season, he’s not a number 1 pick yet. They also need to “tank” ie not have good qb play this season to ensure a very high pick….cuz if he balls out and browns aren’t number one and another team is, they will be SOL if the team with the pick needs a qb. I would stay way from Cleveland like the plague if I was him lol.

Guy just set the all time sack record and you say he is past his prime
wow
Father time is undefeated he did that last year no guarantee what he would do this year playing for us.
You're going to give up two first round draft picks playing on rookie salaries for one guy over 30 and pay him $40 million a year.
Our defense needs more than one guy.

They would laugh at that. They would want 12 and next years 1st along with CeeDee Lamb (instead of Pickens). They still might want another pick like a 2nd or 3rd.
Just fyi. Both of our firsts next year are locked up because the jets get the better of the two

Not really. They badly need a wide receiver and Pickens is a difference maker and easily worth at least one first round pick and then some. Throw in number 20 and you have the makings of a deal. Its a fair deal for both sides.

Would you do it? Both 1st rounders in this draft or 2026 and 2027 1st rounders.
Tough call.......he would instantly upgrade your defense

Damn right, me lad. 2027 1st round. No. 2 rounder in 2026.
You canna pass up a chance for Garrett. Ever!
But Pickens remains safe, yes?
Thank you.

Why would the Browns want Pickens?

And why at such a discount on Garrett?

Are you being serious?
Just spitballing here but Pickens was just 25 years old and is at the beginning of what looks like a very productive career and Garrett just had a career year at 30 years old and is on the back side of his career.
After 30 NFL players age in dog years you never know when a player is going to hit the wall after that

Especially not THREE first rounders...which is reportedly what they want. Geez. This Pavlovian nonsense just goes on and on. The Cowboys are not one player away from a Superbowl. And it's only if you think that do you kill your draft for two years. This would be worse than the Crosby trade offer...and that was only ONE first rounder.
We not one player away but add Gary, Thompson, Garrett. That's 3 players.

We would absolutely have the best front 4 in the entire NFL.

The best DE and the best or maybe top 3 DT. Clark and Gary are solid

The Browns can want what they want for Garrett and we can want whatever we want for Pickens.

They both can say they are both worth 5 first round picks and then just agree to make a straight up trade. Problem solved.
That is actually a good trade idea but the trade police (NFL insiders)would say Garrett is worth much more than Pickens. It would probably be more of Pickens, a first round pick and a 2nd in 2027 for Garrett.

Now Garrett straight up for Dak. Everyone would be happy.

Garrett IS worth more than Pickens when it comes to potential draft compensation. And it really isn't close. No way in hell will Pickens command two first rounders PLUS his salary...let alone three.

And no trade can happen until Pickens signs the tag. So he has a say in where and who he would be traded to...if it comes to that. The Cowboys are not shopping him and no teams have been linked to the Cowboys in any potential trade scenario. The Browns would take an extremely prohibitive 41 million dollar cap hit if they trade Garrett before June 1. This makes a trade before the draft unlikely.
