...Sure hope they dont let him go. He set the edge really well, forcing runners inside. They can sign him for bargain. Would be very good depth and rotational player.

Hopefully, Jerry doesn't get cheap again.

Had more sacks than Gary in fewer games too.
But the response will be is he a Parker scheme fit.
And here I thought it was that good coaches put their players in the best position to succeed. Saying his scheme isn't a skillset fit for Clowney is garbage.
Clowney still has juice.
They should sign him.

He was a bright spot in last year’s defense. It doesn’t seem like other teams are racing to sign him either. Maybe it impacts compensatory picks or guaranteed money or something to wait.

They are waiting on the draft and trades.

He's at a point in his career where his decisions are based on playing time AND money.

If they were going to re-sign him they wouldn't have traded for Gary.

Jokes gonna be on you when they go secondary, secondary in the draft this year and ignore edge

Also. Did you see the comments made by I think Schottenheimer about how their primary focus defensively is gonna be on coverage to then create the pass rush?

I nearly vomited.

I could be wrong, but I think the ideal is to force the QB to hold the ball longer for the pass rush to get there.

They currently have 4 players who can play the SAM, I don't see them resigning him unless they have several long term injuries in camp!

He’s already a free agent

Clowney always does this.

My guess is that the reason he’s not signed somewhere is because he doesn’t want to be

Like most every other year, once training camp rolls around, he’ll find a team

I don’t get the sense he really cares much about football or winning. Hes just working and football is his job and he’s like a contractor who approaches the back end of his career as a series of one season assignments

Just with QWilliams 51 and Clark 45 last season
they got pressures. Gary had 54.
Anything resembling a coherent secondary scheme and the sacks will come!
