Cowboys have called to inquire about LB Brooks

So you want to give up the farm for a player in the last year of his contract.

I do not blame the FO for not giving into your poor GM thoughts.
Didn't say I want to give up the farm. I'm talking about how our fans seem to undervalue other team's players. A bunch of fans were saying Crosby wasn't worth two firsts, but that was his value before the physical. Almost every trade I see, I read Cowboys fans saying they would have never given up that much.

I think Brooks will be traded for something in the first three rounds or Miami will just hold on to him and hope it can get that much with a comp pick ... if he plays at the same level he did last year.

And what is wrong about giving an opinion of some trade rather one fan feels it is realistic or not.

It is no different than one fan saying they couldn’t even get a 4th round for Pickens.

CowboysZone trades are the most glorious.
They really are. We'll take all your guys at a bargain, but ours cost a premium. I think having the Joneses as owners/GMs has messed with their heads. I mean, Pickens in the last year of his deal cost us more than some think Brooks should cost and he wasn't coming off an All-Pro season and was being traded by his team because of behavioral concerns.

I understand that Brooks doesn't play a premium position, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have value.

Nothing wrong with it. Just like there's nothing wrong with me responding and pointing out that it's not realistic.

I mean, if a fan said that about Pickens, you wouldn't chime in that he's worth more than that?

Keep in mind that Miami is 2nd to last in cap space and owe 179 million in dead money for 2026.

That has to be a record.

Tua, Hill, and Waddle account for 115 million alone.

Another four are owed at least 10 million.

I agree but my concern is the final year of his contract. A trade w/o signing him to a new deal is risky coz it puts your contract leverage behind the eight ball. There's nothing to do to stop him from walking after the season other than give him what he wants or tag.

Omar Kelly? lol

Try searching for his coverage grades for his career and then for 2025. Then compare Bobby Wagner's to his in 2025.
Not many coverage plays shown on his highlight clips, but there's a few where he looked like he belonged.

I think we're more likely to work out a long-term deal with Pickens next year since we usually do with players the next year after tagging them and then we can tag Brooks. The linebacker tag is fairly low.

This trade if it happens will need to wait until after June 1st. This would allow Miami to get maximum cap savings which they are probably most worried about.

First team all pro, former first rounder in the middle of his prime.

A fifth is just ridiculous.

His market is a third, minimum.

Those are called highlights for a reason.
I understand that. I didn't follow the player, so that's what there is. You say he can't cover. Someone who covers the team says he's good in coverage. You want to defend your stance, you provide the evidence.
