Kenyon Sadiq TE Oregon

Cowboys don't have that explosive TE, one who can threaten the seem, make big plays after the catch. Ferguson is a solid all around TE, but he has athletic limitations. Kenyon Sadiq ran an insane 4.39 at the combine and was a highly production TE with Oregon's explosive offense. Adding him with our two receivers who be downright scary.

Certainly would be a BPA selection and would have to be a blinking light selection. If they did draft an offensive player, Sadiq would be near top of the list. Not saying to draft him, but if they get into a wipe out situation at 20, he would be the best player available.
Agreed, our offense is good but if the Cowboys some how came away with an left tackle, running back, or tight end with our two first round picks I would be ok with it if they are bpa.

Just don’t want to reach to fill a need, if an offensive player becomes that blinking light-take him

What I mean is that WR's, RB's & QB's all more easily command higher volume of touches and impact on the team. Even OL can impact the team more due to impacting every play.

Now yes, TE's can be true difference makers. But they are few and far between. I was also making the point, those diffence makers haven't been the Uber athletic specimens.

Those two factors aren't a great argument for taking a "specimen" TE with a premium pick and expect them to truly be a cornerstone of your offense.

The vast majority of TE's, even good ones, are additional weapons not the primary weapons.
IF we keep Pickens, with Lamb as well, there simply are not enough footballs to justify spending a top pick on TE

You don't throw the ball to fill quotas. You throw to who's open.
Pickens and Lamb wouldn't prevent me from drafting a top tier TE.

I was going to say they paid Spann Ford a healthy UDFA salary then he seems like an afterthought after 2 years . He’s a downfield weapon and a red zone target at his height . Use him before you spend a high draft pick on another TE
He’s also an awesome blocker

we get one of these olympic TEs every draft, with claims they will just transform the offense, etc...and haven't seen one succeed yet. what will a 2nd TE get on the team with CD, Pickens, Fergi, Williams and up and coming Flourney...

All about matchups, having a 4.3 TE on a linebacker is a huge advantage. Even if a defense uses a safety or their worst corner, still an advantage.

wow, you really do not understand Todays NFL, do you

again, every year there is this TE that's fast and big and this and that and they fail to succeed in said matchups in NFL. remember Pitts. he was supposed to transform NFL TEs,.

its not about speed. its about being able to run routes and get open. Witten wasn't fast. he ran a 4.7, but man, could he get open.

give me a football player. not an olympic athlete. fans tend to fall in love with olympic measurables.

You mention Pitts, but they never had a legitimate QB nor an elite passing offense.

If we are wiped out at 12 I'd actually be ok with taking him.

Ferguson isn't it I only, had a god awful season last year.

Sadiq offers a TE threat we just haven't had in a long long time

If no trade back and all D players are gone and he is highest rated on the board, Ok then BUT and will leave it there.

I very much do. More than the average fan. I even played it.
I didn't play NFL football just to be clear. I don't want to bust your spring like I did to @CalPolyTechnique.

He still thinks I said Roschon Johnson would start for 90% of NFL teams and I claimed Arch Manning would be the overall #1 pick in the draft.

You could make the same argument for a #2 WR, and a #2 WR isn't going to be as impactful in the running game as a good TE.

IMO, the league is switching over to featuring TEs now. The Rams often ran a 3 TE offense to help their running game, and their TEs caught over 100 passes. I think this is a weak TE draft, but last year was the time to strike, we had Tyler Warren served on a silver platter, and the Cowboys took a guard too early, instead.
Man get ferg off the field and run spann Sadiq and Ryan flournoy as the dump off that ferg was

@Robbieac, what did I tell you ?

@Hardline still trying to lie despite the clear evidence. Notice he didn't respond on the thread he got exposed on, looool.
